Butters is done. The writing was very obviously on the wall when the UAA threw him under the bus (like he likes to do with the players) after the death threat situation. Them releasing a statement saying "He provided no further details" was not what they would have done if they had his back. When has a coach at a major program shown zero progress in the first 3 years and then went on to success? He needs to be gone.

I agree. Although his performance on the field has been shaky, he earned 1 more year. Barely.

However, if you are a marginal employee, it is not wise to pi$$ off your boss AND your customers.

1st he insulted his customers (fans) by lying about death threats. It makes us look like spoiled maniacs.

Then he pi$$ed of the boss (UAA) by not providing info.

He might have earned another year if Foley was here, but instead a new AD came in and he's been piss poor on the field and off. Stricklin has no ties to him. Cut him loose and hand a blank check to a proven winner.

Oh, I agree. I don't like saying a player "sucks", as we all know most of them give their all. I don't like LDR as a person (spoiled, rich, arrogant, etc), but I appreciate his efforts. I've seen enough of Franks to tell he's not getting coached very well. Sure, he may not be all-SEC, but he has talent and they are not putting him - or the rest of the offensive players - in a position to succeed. It's shameful, especially the salaries this staff is making.

Agreed, we don’t need to bash and name call players that have tried they’re best. LDR is not the most talented QB and is physically limited, but I’ve never once questioned his effort, and Franks is a good example of failed coaching. If the staff knows he limited in his ability to grasp the offense, then they should dumb it down a bit for him, and let him use his mobility some, since it’s seems to be a hidden strength we weren’t aware of. I have no doubt that Franks would be more developed at this point at some other schools.

Greg McElroy has been really bashing our fanbase since the Mac claimed “death threat”, now I know he played for Mac and has always been his biggest supporter, but he’s an idiot. Could you imagine if Bama went three straight years of just 2 losses in the regular season and missed out on the playoffs how they’d turn on Saban. That fanbase will hopefully have the hardest fall when Saban does eventually retire. Have no doubt almost all coaches get hate mail or some kind of threats made to them, but very few will publicly acknowledge them.

Every Bama fan I meet I ask them if they want to take Mac after Saban retires and not one single Bammer fan wants him. Not a one. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Dude is a dud.

Have you ever considered the idea that fan message boards are not for you?

I don’t want you to leave, it’s a fair question. Some people are too serious to be able to handle them. BruceWayne was a recent example.

So the university is more important than the fanbase, the majority of the fanbase are students/alumni of the university. So the very life blood of the university... so what you are really saying is you prefer the Coach to the University... because the fanbase is made up of what makes the university the university.
