Dude is right, the sec is a joke of a conference at this point. Any offensive minded HC worth the hair on his azz could come in here and wipe the floor with this conference. The SEC is ripe for the picking. Its flat out embarrassing how bad we are offensively.

I was 12 when he was their hot QB. That's a long time ago. I remember watching him in the Rose Bowl. Is that all the football history UCLA has?

The unforgettable Rick Neuheisel.

I'd guess that Tinerc is probably the worst job in the SEC.

They have less bluechip recruits in their state than Kintucky even, and have to play Bammer twice likely to win a championship ever.

Tough sell, even if they put 102,000 teeth in the stadium on some Saturdays.

I think you may be a little generous in that estimate. Last time I was at kneel and bob there was a dude who was hogging two whole teeth all to himself.

Billy Kilmer, the old Washington Redskin quarterback, was the last single wing tailback to play for UCLA. Tennessee and UCLA were the last major college teams to run the single wing. Tennessee because General Neyland would not abandon it and it was continued by Bowden Wyatt at UT when he coached there because he played under Neyland. Doug Dickey was the UT coach who installed the split-T formation ending the Tennessee single wing.

UCLA ran the single wing down to the early 1960s because they had a coach, Bill Barnes, who played for Neyland at Tennessee. I know all this stuff because my father went to Tennessee and I heard all about Neyland.

UCLA's cream of the crop alltime:

Gary Beban--No clue
Troy Aikman--Guy who handed the ball to Emmitt
Jonathan Ogden--O Lineman
DeShaun Foster--RB?
Kenny Easley--Rising country star, I believe
Ken Norton, Jr.--Good LB
Brett Hundley--No clue
Marcedes Lewis--Marcedes? Who are his parents, would be the better question.
J.J. Stokes--Vaguely remember
Eric Kendricks--No clue
Freeman McNeil--Sounds made up
Randy Cross--Pretty sure it's spelled Moss.

Honest to God, who are some of these people?

Best guesses.

You do know you don’t have to negatively recruit UCLA to us, right? We’re already convinced

Beban won the Heisman, so he forever remains a trivia question. We all know who Aikman is. Norton, Jr. had a successful NFL career, can't say he's more famous than his daddy. Lewis was a TE for Jax Jaguars, is he still in the NFL? If you don't follow the Jags, you wouldn't know who he is. I remember Freeman McNeil, and Randy Cross is more famous for being an NFL color commentator. Who are the other guys?

If you like coaching in the NFL you aren't scared of the SEC... and besides the SEC is not even close to where it was 10 years ago.
He could come in and steam roll it and it would appear as an accomplishment of great proportions while winning at UCLA is just a joke. You went to a conference with zero teams on the cusp of elite. I guess winning at UCLA would be unprecedented but he’ll never escape being looked at as someone who ran away from competition.
