That wasn't my question. My question is what made him want UCLA over Florida?

I think the comments that Kelly "took the easy way" is a bunch of looser talk.
We won't get into an arms raceHopefully we learn from our mistakes. The Kelly dealings have to be an eye opener to the UAA in terms of facilities, support staff and the overall financial commitment necessary to rebuild the program.
It ain't 2007 anymore, fellas. Get with the program.
That was my answer. He chose UCLA because they showed they wanted him, not the attitude that he should be so grateful we are even considering you.
Dont forget gymnastics. We won't get into an arms race
I believe the last part has relevance but I'm not buying the first sentence. Why should that be believed? We were told all week he was a done deal to coach at Florida. Only "Sources" have said he doesn't like recruiting and Boosters. Does UCLA not have to recruit? Do they not have Boosters?Maybe but the big picture is that he does not care for recruiting and schmoozing with alumni. After taxes he will be making a fraction of what he would at UF and the best team he ever had lost to Auburn. There may be other reasons I have not listed. But maybe he is just an LA guy and Gainesville isnt his oyster.

Yeah, absolutely. Actually UCLA isthe harder route to win big.I think the comments that Kelly "took the easy way" is a bunch of looser talk.
Clearly not, just logistics. And our flying the university president to meet with him at his home wasn't a way to let him know how important we considered the hire or how much we deferred to the importance of his candidacy?
Sounds like a little bias in your post.I disagree. I think he wanted to go somewhere a 9-3 record will make the 25,000 people who actually show up to the game happy. Look, I love LA. I have a Masters from USC. It's actually a great place to live, if you have money, which he does... But UCLA isn't where an elite coach goes to prove that he is an elite coach. UCLA is where someone who is looking for comfort and convenience goes to coach. Instead of doing booster clubs, he'll be doing fundraiser soirees for a Hollywood pervert. Instead of playing UGA, UT, LSU, FSU, AL, and occasionally Miami... he'll take an annual a$$-beating from USC, and then go chill on the beach in Santa Monica.
Yes, he "took the easy way."
Clearly not, just logistics.
But then again, if all of those people were involved, and they didn't get it done, then perhaps we were no where near where we needed to be.
