Tennessee: Jeremy Pruitt’s contract is a six-year deal with a $3.8 million salary, according to
USA Today. If he is fired without cause, Pruitt would be owed 60 percent of his remaining salary through the contract, not subject to offset.
Oregon: Co-offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Mario Cristobal will be promoted to full-time head coach,
accordingto NBC Sports Northwest and Yahoo Sports. A person with direct knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic's Chantel Jennings that a team meeting has been called for 1:30 p.m. PT. Cristobal was named interim head coach earlier this week when Willie Taggart left for Florida State, and players pushed for Cristobal to get the full-time job. He’s spent one year at Oregon and went 27-47 as FIU head coach from 2007-12.
Mississippi State: Former Tennessee defensive coordinator Bob Shoop will join the Mississippi State staff as defensive coordinator, a person with direct knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg first reported the news. Shoop spent the last two years at Tennessee and was previously the coordinator at Penn State and Vanderbilt. Though he and Joe Moorhead both worked at Penn State, they didn’t work there at the same time.
