Amazing how you can make these statements without watching a second of the Big 10 champ game. OSU got curbed stomped by 6-6 Purdue and barely put away NW. Any team in the top four would beat OSU, including ND.

While I agree that Notre Dame sucks and has no business in the playoffs, OSU would not beat them by 60. OSU would have to have a half ass defense to do that. :)

I don’t disagreeing that they’re likely the worst of the four and by a considerable margin. That said, they went undefeated with a P5 schedule and had some impressive wins like Michigan in the opener. Like it or not, that more often than not earns you a spot. If any of the other 3 legitimate contenders were undefeated, then I have no doubt they’d lose out to Osu and Ou. As it is, they have a better resume than a one loss Osu, who two weeks ago was getting mauled my rudderless Maryland. And certainly better than a 2 loss uga squad who was torched by Orgeron and obviously wasn’t capable of beating number 1.

I’ll also add that all of this is based on assumptions. The assumption is that they’re no good and shouldn’t be in the playoffs. But keep in mind, 12 years ago, that would’ve been UF getting that criticism. The assumption then was the B10 was just that good. Now it’s “Well, uga must be great because they came close to beating the hands down best team”. The benefit of the doubt is warranted but still could be misguided. I saw plenty of flaws in ALa yesterday. They’re probably the best out there, and ND is probably the weakest. But now we get to find out.

I know, I'm just pissed because I had Memphis in the pickem and also living in Orlando I have to listen to obnoxious UCF fans around here. If you watched that game it was sad what the refs were doing. Whoever the ref was that kept over ruling flagged obvious penalties should be hung. Not to mention the favorable spots and ignored holdings in the 2nd half.

I missed that pick too. Was pissed at Memphis’s defense for blowing that lead. Didn’t watch it though, so I didn’t see the bad calls.

Memphis football falls short of AAC championship vs UCF, and it felt all too familiar

Because a conference that fancies itself one of college football's "power six" leagues should never attain that status as long as the officiating remains as consistently shoddy as it is right now.

Because before Memphis blew that fourth-and-1 to start the fourth quarter, before it coughed up a big lead to UCF for the second time this season, referee Michael Roche gave the home team the momentum it needed when his crew blew call after call.

They picked up flags that negated positive plays for the Tigers, and whistled phantom fouls against the Tigers.

I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but Saturday seemed egregious. It seemed like someone felt the team that had won 24 games in a row needed to win 25.

You think this because you think this is about play on the field. Notre Dame will be expected to increase the number on a play off series that has had disappointing ratings so far. So by the real criteria they certainly belong.

The first year you change it to 8 teams, then you’d have numbers 9-12 *****ing to make it a 16 team field. I think 4 is plenty and wouldn’t mind seeing it go back to the BCS formula with 2 teams. They got it right damn near every year and it keeps the regular season relevant like no other sport in the land.

This....and like I've tried to say 50 times now THERE HAS NEVER been more than 3 or maybe 4 teams at the end of the regular season and Conference championships that should even be considered to play for a Natty....#'s 5, 9 and 17 would still be b!tching…..In 50 years of watching this sport I have never even seen a #5 that had any business playing for a NC.....let alone a #17....SMFH.

Just another flaw in the trash they call a playoff. Notre Dame is independent, therefore they must be independent from the playoffs too.

With that said, hopefully they win the damn thing, because there are about 15-20 teams that are better than them.
