Yer on crack as usual. This class is second to none except Bama, considering needs and fit.
:lmao2:

I'm reasonably happy with the year and the results and the late push, but this is crazy. Several teams have more 5 stars in this class than we have on the roster.

Our biggest needs were interior lineman and inside linebackers in we got one total. We got a few outside linebacker / safety hybrids, that we hope will grow into inside linebackers, maybe, and three 200-pound Rushbacker hybrids that we hope will grow at least a little to OLB size (20-30 pounds) or a lot (like 50 pounds) to DE size.

Most kids just arent going to gain that much size. Most of those skinnies still look like Moon years later.

We tried and missed on dozens of tackles heavy end, inside linebackers.

Im not really sure what the plan is with safeties. We didnt really even try except w Battle. Maybe we except enough of those LB/S hybrids NOT to grow that we dont care. Of course we didnt play any heavy safeties this year anyway.

I'm real happy with oline class though.

It was a great late recovery, probably the best I recall, but it is a mehhhhh class for sure.

Your obsession with inside linebackers is confusing. We play a 3-4 hybrid defense. We need backers who can not only fill the A/B gaps but also cover, not some hulking 1980s run only line backers. I'm not sure if you are aware or have been under a rock but most teams run a variation of the spread even with traditional I-Form and Singleback sets. We don't need more slow ass Reese and Morrison's, we need smarter versions of guys like Joseph. I also expect to see a lot of Houston and Miller this year

Safeties we are fine on. Do you really think we signed all those DB's and a 215 pound LB in black to play just those positions? Black will be moved to safety as Dan even mentioned which at his size that's where he should be.

As for DT's we missed on that, yes. That I cannot disagree there. Load up on them in 2020 and we will be fine as they would be soph's before they would get true PT. Let's not forget we only play one traditional DT now in Grantham's defense.

Who gives a **** about how many five stars other teams signed. We signed a ton of high end four stars which are just fine. It's not like we are signing FAU kids and trying to pump them out as better than their rating.

Im not sure if you are aware but 240-250 is a linebacker.

200-210 is a safety. Black is our biggest LB signee and he may actually play safety.

Theres a reason every team we played ran it down our throats. IIf you want to continue losing to Kintucky, play a WAC sized defense is way to do it.

Dude the game is and has changed. 235-240 is perfectly acceptable for a LB. Give me a guy who can make tackles and still cover at 230-240 over a slow ass run LB only like Reese who is 250 lbs. Who was a better linebacker? Mack Wilson for Alabama at 239 lbs or David Reese at 250?

We also literally have no LBs at 200-210, stop being an imbecile

The guys we brought in that are 200-220 will be moved around to other positions such as guys like Black. Diabate will need to add size for sure though. I dont expect Pierre to ever play much here. Hopper moved as well as he is underweight. Some of the rush end guys we signed will add size and be OLB when its all said and done

Fifteen years ago, not having a 7ft big man spelled doom for college and pro basketball. Today, if you don't have a big man that can stretch the court, you're in trouble. The game has changed. Football is heading the same route with lighter and faster players.

BTW Ferg, as usual, Ugly signed two 230 lb inside backers.

Bammer signed three ILB, 225, 230, and 235 pounds.

Those guys must not be aware of the 200 pounders only new rule you just made up.

Do I hope we are ok and that the lil dudes grow up in a hurry? yes. But if we look like we did last year, undersized and weak vs Kintucky while Reese was out, again, you can be sure to remind me about the new rule that you play only OLBs now.

.
Dude, those are the three LBs we signed in this class and they are all 205-210.

This is a thread about THIS class.

We literally like totz literally signed those three literally were 200-210 pound LBs .

BTW, i agree that two of the three might well be strong safeties, but we dont seem to play one.

I was hoping this thread would be about how each staff member did on the trail (who they went after and what they got) versus a pumper dumper thread.

Regardless of your information accuracy, why on earth would you say it this way? Wouldn't second to none except Bama put us at precisely second to, I don't know... Bama? What a peculiar comment.

No, Goon. It's not. It's the matter of a poorly used figure of speech. Saying we are second to none in the same sentence as saying Bama was the only team better is a conundrum/paradox

It's an old Southern colloquialism meaning we are the best.

You are insufferable.

Whine all year about how this staff can't recruit.
They snag a Top10 class and you choose to move the goalposts.

You and Bill Sikes should hang out.
Bill sikes is about as unbiased as it gets dude.
