Lucky for Franks that there will be stats indicating if FF's QB skills have dropped or improved. No bias in stats.

Agreed. You can tell by the way they say it they are being coerced.
I think it's pretty clear that players shouldn't publicly bag on one of their fellow teammates. What are they supposed to say, 'we can't stand the guy'?

Agreed. 2 good rules by Mullen showing he is firmly in charge.

(1) Don’t publicly bag on your QB.

(2) Go on air and speak to Franks improvement and leadership.

Behind the scenes I sense these 3 players have a different private opinion because they each said the same things publicly last off-season.

Good culture move by Mullen. Building it right! Could this be further proof EJ has already won the job?

Behind the scenes I have a feeling they would like to see Franks get an ass kicking.

I think it's clear at this point that Franks has taken his last snap for UF. He's too arrogant to transfer to another school.....he'll just declare for the NFL draft. He's the kind of guy that can already picture his bronze bust in Canton.

Agreed ....at this stage his confidence has grown too much. Good point!

He’ll get some snaps though even if it’s mop up duty in some blowouts.

:rolleyes4:

Talk about projection.
It's very strange. Marine1 has taken a huge step forward, and yet you are taking steps back.

Since when did you become such a Franks nutswinger? I could pull up over 100 posts from you ripping him every which way. I think you even said bad things about his mother.

You do nothing but play both sides of fence, which is why your takes get more and more ignored.

I’m not sure he’s a huge Franks fan. I read it more as “Franks continues to be the best option we’ve got.” And I agree, for better or worse.

Franks ain't good, but he is the best we have. This year his running will be notiiceably better and his passing should show a very small up tick. Barring a Franks injury, the number two QB gets a little mop up time. My only caveat is if our OL is so deplorably bad that we regress to"run for your life mode". Maybe EJ has a better chance of surviving in that mode.

This might go down as the dumbest post this spring. Congrats

Ferg no offense, but if your IQ was multiplied by 100, you might have the intelligence to tie your shoe.....if you didn't drool all over yourself in the process.

Dude, I'm not a Franks fan. But he had a pretty good year and finished strong. 31 TDs and 6 ints speaks for itself.

I will say it for about the thousandth time, I expected EJ to replace him in October and he didn't. So I'm not predicting anything this year. Mullinz obviously likes the kid and he is certainly better in this offense than I ever expected.

Link? He only played him because he had no one else. Hell, he even benched him for Trask before Trask managed to hurt himself.

EJ is his guy, he recruited him. Mullen can't stand Franks.

Mullen could care less about who starts. At the end of the day he will trot out against Miami the QB he believes gives him the best shot to win. I don’t think he is tied to the hip to Franks (not even his recruit) so if he starts it will be telling.

I predicted EJ by Georgia last year but didn’t happen. No idea this year. I’ll stick to my original prediction....when it’s all said and done JJ will have been the best of the lot over his career.

Through your Franks-colored glasses I can imagine you'd see it this way.
He won't be the starter if he's not better than Jones. It seems to be the consensus from the guys that have watched practice so far that's he's much better this spring than last spring. I don't care who is back there as long as they are the best QB on campus.

I got a drunk rating over my comment that losing your temper and throwing a football at a teammate like a petulant child underlined Franks’ immaturity. An immaturity that was seen last two seasons when he shushed the crowd, got flustered on the field, was depressed when things weren’t going well, etc.

I have said wild things before, but I believe that pointing to a tangible event and observing that said event underlines that he still has growing up to do, especially as the QB1 and on the field leader for this team, may have been the most sober item I have contributed here.
