We kept a rapist on the team from Apr 6 to May 3 and let him play in the spring game after, so bizzarre, originally suspending him from the game.

No I just stated a fact. Rapes occurred which were reported to the police and university on April 6. JJ played anyway. Those were the facts.

Lawyer you say?

He was alleged to have sexually assaulted them. Alleged.

I know you'd rather have a hot take (the hotter the better, the more you can be caustic the better), but you do live in the good 'ole US of A and we presume innocence until proven guilty.

There was a report filed with the UPD I think.

Im no lawyer so I dont know the legal ramifications of a report with no charges. I really wish the girls would press charges. It would kinda have made things much cleaner and easier.

How did he stop a rape? Reports say he walked in on it ... then left.
Walked in during the consensual part of it. Girl got freaked out that CS and Hill walked in and told JJ no but he kept going. For all we know according to the reports, the consensual part would have gone on and nobody would be the wiser had CS and Hill not walked in.

Say what? You don't play a guy accused of 2 rapes. That position is indefensible.

This is my point. Is he accused of rape? My understanding is the girl did not press charges. But I see what you are getting at and I got hung up on the legality of it. Had Mullen known JJ was up to stuff he was up to not sure why he would have played him in the OB.

Title IX does not require charges...sorry to tell you. What decent human being trots out a QB with two rape allegations hanging over his head?

For all we know ... that is the point ... WE DONT KNOW! Everyone is making judgemental decisions based on it. I mean really ... based on the report, sounds like it was consenual until the moment she Hill and Steele walked in and left and the rape didnt occur until after that. So ... Steele really didnt stop anything.

But that is just as much nonsense as saying he stopped it. WE DONT KNOW.

I really want to know and I hope we know ... or at least, the right people know and do the right thing with it. Regardless ... I want JJ to leave and hope he leaves with a record.

THERE ARE NO RAPE ALLEGATIONS UNLESS THE GIRLS SAY THERE IS!!!

But yes ... I would hope that Coach wouldn't play JJ if he knew what was going on.

The reports come from or are based on the UPD reports of the incident and are probably how the girls described it. Did the UPD take statements from the boys? I have not seen their statements anywhere.

I dont know nor dispute that. But how is that even relevant? Maybe I misread it ... I understood that Steele and Hill walked in on it ... then left ... then she said no. Right?

According to a police report first obtained by the Tampa Bay Times, freshman quarterback Jalon Jones was accused of sexual battery last month. The Gainesville Sun provided more details about the incident, which actually involves separate claims from two female Florida students in the same night.

The girls said there was...they declined to press charges. Again, are you being deliberately this obtuse or is there something wrong upstairs?

The truth lies somewhere between the complete sanctification of Chris Steele and the complete vilification.
Villification of who?

So far Steele is the only one being villified on here.

Yeah, they walked in for some unexplained reason, supposedly laughing according to the report. The girl most probably freaked out thinking they were there to share her or were there to watch and told JJ to stop. Now maybe Hill and Steele have a totally innocent explanation for why they walked in on JJ and the girl but whatever the reason the girl freaked out.

The other unusual thing according to the report on the second girl:

" She told him to stop multiple times during this incident, the report said. The female student told university police officers that “Jones only stopped when she saw and heard Hill in the living room.”

She told officers she “pushed Jones off (of) her, got dressed and asked Hill to go to Steele’s room.” Then the two female friends ordered an Uber to get home, according to the report."
Jalon Jones, who is transferring, not charged in two complaints
Why did she have to tell hill to go to CS's room?

I dont really know dude ... you seem to be the one being obtuse given the fact that I am giving the same benefit of the doubt to Mullen/staff that we are giving Steele. GFY.

Good question. Dont know either. I still havent really seen anything that alludes to CS and Hill stopping a rape. To me, it makes a lot more sense that if you stop a rape you just dont leave. You stay and help out. But I dont know and I am not going to light a torch and grab a pitchfork yet for anyone other than JJ. When more facts are known, then I will jump on board.

And if Mullen knew before the OB ... kinda hard to understand why JJ is dressed and on the field. Doesnt make sense that he would know. We are talking an early enrollee with no real anchor on the team yet.

The vilification of Steele.
Oh there is some vilification of Steele that he is an immature quitter but a lot of people are giving him the benefit of the doubt that he did everything right and absolutely no wrong. Those same people are piling up on the coaching staff that cannot defend themselves due to student privacy laws.

None would. And there's noting conclusive right now showing Mullen did.

For all the talk about let's get all the facts before crushing someone, it's not really being applied here. Whether you intended to or not, your statement all but convicts Mullen of doing just that. Looks like a CNN headline.
