Well, the article I read was from the Tampa Times. As I said in my edit above, I don't know how this works in terms of police reports and the media. But it repeatedly refers to "the police report". I imagine you'd have to be pretty careful throwing that phrase out there if it's not accurate.

The Orlando Sentinel has a very similar article also refering to the UPD report:

Former UF QB Jalon Jones accused of sexual battery

So we have a few explanation of how this could happen some much more likely than others:

1. The two different reporters saw a copy of the police report and accurately reported on it.

2. One of the two reporters plagiarized the other.

3. The two reporters got together to make up a story.

4. The two reporters randomly made up the same story, but never talked to each other about it.

5. The two reporters are the same person writing for two different papers under different names.

Personally until I have some reason other than a poster ranting to believe something different, I am going with explanation 1 above.

Jeeses Christ. Have you people heard of wire services?

It's pretty funny watching you guys spike the ball then it hits you in the nuts.

It kind of reminds me of what I told you Jalon was suspended and maybe gone before the spring game.

Or when I told you it wasn't just two players in the credit card thing.

I haven’t considered the Slantinel to be a reliable source of unbiased UF info for over a decade. Their sports section should be renamed “Haterade.”

That was Haunted, if memory serves me, not you.

Credit to him, btw. He was chastised that day for even mentioning what he'd heard, humbly apologized after JJ was inserted into the game, and to my knowledge hasn't made an appearance here to gloat about being right all along.

I don't recall Haunted. On the board or in the box?

And I certainly didn't humbly apologize.

I didni't or wouldn't gloat about it because it isn't something nice for our program.

I said Haunted apologized that day for starting what looked like a needless panic.

And you'll have to repeat your last sentence. I could barely hear it over the ABBA blasting in the background.
