Neutral field I think we win this more times than not. I think our DL can really disrupt Burrow, especially after listening to his interviews this week that really shows we are in his head. Some people say he circled this date on the calendar ... others would say we are in his head. If we get to him early it could affect his game in a big way.

What I worry the most about is our O playing in that environment. Trask, as impressive and steady as he has been thus far, showing he isn't scared to take a hit while putting the ball where it needs to be, has never been in this type of environment. Our OL, who already seems to be lost in scheme and slow to their assignment, will be a a fraction of a second slower since crowd noise will take away our ability to go as a unit. People saying EJ is the answer ... whatever ... redshirt freshmen who has a limited playbook in an environment that takes away communication.

I think ST is a huge factor in this game. On a neutral field, we match up great ... but that crowd noise could kinda minimize our advantages.

I think Trask will manage the hostile environment well due to his maturity. The young O-line on the other hand is concerning. They may be more susceptible to mistakes. Hopefully we can get some big plays on offense and defense early to take the crowd out a bit.

But I'm excited for this game, which is something I haven't said much in the last several years. Usually great defense bests great offense, and I hope that's the case Saturday.

I agree. That crowd home field advantage thing doesn't necessarily translate to their O side unless our O can't make first downs and our D is on the field a long time. If we can get something big early and take the crowd out then I think Trask and EJ can go to work. ST could be a huge help in maybe making a big play or keeping them pinned deep.

They can try to replicate what Auburn's D did to us but they dont have Auburn's DL. If I was Trask, I would welcome them to press our WRs. We have huge mismatches in our favor and if their DL can't get pressure quick enough we will burn their buttts all night long. You got to think Trask will have more time in the pocket against LSU than AU. Then LSU will have to adjust ... then we adjust.

Most of us idiots go in to every game every year blindly believing we'll win. Now we've got ltraz and law donkey becoming pumpers and believing also , this year could end up being pretty special.

Seems like in the second half Auburn started to press the line of scrimmage quite a bit more than they did at the beginning of the game. As such we needed to throw some deeper routes but it looks like we never did and it allowed them to disrupt our short passing game.

@neteng I was at the UK game and the atmosphere was very impressive. It was sold out and that crowd wanted a win. Trask came in and handled it - as you saw - very, very well. Sure, Commonwealth isn't Death Valley, but the crowd was on point that night and it was Trask's first meaningful football in 14 years and he handled it like a champ. I'm more worried about our OL than Trask.

I was there too and I agree with @BMF. Trask handled the environment well. OL has been and will continue to be our biggest concern.

I wasn't there but you could tell it was a rough environment just from watching on TV. I haven't seen Trask rattled yet so dont think he will be in Death Valley either. If I may quote the late great MCA (Yauch), "he is as cool as a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce". Im just worried about the OL not having a good game and stuff snowballing on him.

Well, the fumbling issue needs to be resolved. He's done it multiple times now in more than just the Auburn game. He needs to take the sack and live to see the next play. The turnovers not only cost us a few points (FG's at a minimum), but gave Auburn points (field position). The OL is a problem - everyone knows that (LSU, Hevesy, Trask, the fans, the backup kicker, etc) so I hope Mullen 'schemes' around it and has Trask more prepared.

Definitely an issue. It was a bigger issue with Franks because Franks seemed to hold onto it way too long. At least Trask throws the receiver open and gets it out quicker. Hopefully, more experience is getting him better at that. But the LSU DL isn't like the AU OL ... so feeling kinda good about that area though it only takes one or two times to make a big difference. But that goes both ways. IMO, Trask is going to get his. I am feeling better and better about this game the more I read and look at LSU. Death Valley and Aranda are the only real spades that make me hold my cards. And Grantham.

Trask is instantaneous (compared to Franks anyway) between decision and release. That's fcking awesome. If the line could just give him another half a second.

Here’s a decent thread on Burrow. Like this guy, I do not think Burrow is a great quarterback and I think this offense has been nothing but smoking mirrors so far

Do I think we win? Idk. I’m really torn. Common sense tells me to go with LSU at night in a hard fought game. We’ll see.
