The 247 team talent composite isn’t the end all be all but here’s the last few years:

2015-15th
2016-16th
2017-17th
2018-12th
2019-15th

I tried to find the revisited 2019 rankings but I want to say we fell to 16th-ish - which is right in line with the average talent we’ve had on hand. Additionally, probably not a whole lot of variation between teams in the teens. I’m guessing our 2020 class is around 10th or so when all is said and done and will keep our talent composite about the same.

TL;DR - Rankings don’t support your claim.
Revised how? It's the talent that's on the roster at the start of the season. They only do it once a year as far as I know.
The raw number are:
2015 - 789.79
2016 - 798.44
2017 - 795.72
2018 - 835.84
2019 - 835.68

We won't know 2020 until the season starts. We were about the same 2015-2017. Got a little better in 2018 stayed the same for 2019.

AR sees actual stats and gives it a :bandit:.
I think we know who's stoned.

"Florida doesn’t have that luxury. Alabama, LSU and Georgia have been the three most talented teams in the SEC over the past four seasons. That means to win the SEC will require that Florida goes through the top-3 teams in the conference almost every year.

Certainly, Florida could outcoach those teams and come out on top. But we already showed that teams with their profile only win those games 35 percent of the time."

And that's it in a nutshell. We have to recruit on their level.
As it stands today:
Bama - 984.96
UGAy - 960.16
LSU - 906.17
UF 835.68

We are far behind.

Don't get your panties in a wad, threat. As I posted a few days ago, the only ratings I will intentionally give will be likes. When I don't like a post and want to make it known, I will say so and give at least a brief indication of why. Even likes can be ambiguous, but the others are simply confusing. Take, for example, the stoned rating Donk gave my quip about Meyer and Spurrier. Did he take it to be a straight forward comment? Did he see the sarcasm but didn't find it humorous? Did he miss the intent because he, himself, is stoned or drunk tonight? Or, maybe his depression over our football program together with his Trask misjudgment has impaired his reasoning ability? The rating itself resolves none of this.
I post from a cell phone holding it in my right hand and scrolling with my right thumb. Sometimes a rating is inadvertently hit. When I find such errors I correct them. I can imagine how disconsolate one must feel to receive a bad rating from someone as perspicacious as I, but rest assured that it was an accident.

Donk is always drunk so that's redundant to use on him.

Data shows that teams ranked in the 11-20 range win on average 64% of their games. Thats 7-8 wins on average. We play in the SEC, where that means 4-5 teams will out talent is, two of which we play every year (UGA and LSU) and every once in a while our rotating west opponent is going to be Bama or Auburn. Thats also assuming UT and FSU will remain down and won't be competetive.

Wining 9-10 games with a roster ranked 15 is above average, and at some point we will regress to the mean, in some years we may under achieve the average. It is bound to happen.

Is a top-10 recruiting class good enough for Florida in 2019? - Read and Reaction

Very good points. Also, you didn't mention A&M. With Jimbo there, they will very likely finish in the top 10 every year - the douchebag can recruit, plain and simple. So that's 5 SEC teams (Alabama, UGA, LSU, Auburn, & A&M) who we have to battle it out with. We very well could be 6th, on a good year, if those teams keep finishing ahead of us on the trail. Right now, we're playing above our ranking - which is a testament to Mullen and the staff. However, it's a 'game of inches' and things can quickly turn (what if UK makes that FG? What if Miami doesn't sh*t the bed in the 4th quarter? as examples). I'd much rather us beat the hell out of out-manned UK and Miami teams than go down to the wire with them!

I hope that the 4-5 star recruits left out there are taking their time and likely won't sign until February. Maybe with a good finish, momentum, conference, weather, school, et al, a good job by the staff we will get our share and rise in the rankings.

LB coach Christian Robinson was at St. Thomas Aquinas yesterday to see LB commit Derek Wingo, along w/ 2021 commit DL Tyreak Sapp and 2020 OL target Marcus Dumervil.

I'd love to land Dumervil. There's another STA OL that's committed to LSU, and LSU leads for Dumervil. I hope Wingo can get this kid to come to Gainesville!

The numbers of 5*s should reduced considerably. For me a 5* should be able to start on a top 10 team, for example Evan Neal at Alabama.

Mark Richt recruited great but lost. CDM is winning but not recruiting great. So he is wrong about that.

CDM gambled last year with recruiting probably because he knew he was behind the sticks and needed to take chances. It backfired on him. I don't totally fault him for that but not sure if he worked hard enough on other paths so he didn't have to gamble so much.

He is barely past halfway of his 2nd full season and doing great on the field. I don't think winning equals immediate change in recruiting and will take some time. Don't argue that he could probably evaluate his staff and make some changes to speed up the process to capitalize on the winning.

Yeah, just think, if LSU had not had that rare high-powered passing offense, UF would be 8-0, likely. It would be great to face them again in the SECCG, with Trask reaching his peak and with 100% Z & G and Toney and high-use of Pitts.

Two of the schools we need to get back into are Apopka HS & Wekiva (practically next door to each other).

Saw this on the Clemson board, Tyler Davis is a true freshman....starting at DT, he's listed at 6'1 297lbs:

DT Tyler Davis: Started 6 games and played in 7... 220 snaps... 26 tackles, 3 sacks, 4.4 tackles for loss

UGA signed top 100 LB Rian Davis out of Wekiva last cycle and has a 2020 DT commit from Apopka ranked in the top 100.

Also, on Clemson: they have 20 commits in their 2020 class....only 1 is from South Carolina (Brett Venebles son, the lowest rated kid in the class); 5 from Florida, kids from 11 states (including DC). Unbelievable!

UGA also has 5 kids committed from Florida (out of 16 commits) and kids from 6 states (including DC).

We need to keep some of these Florida kids home! That's 10 Florida kids going to UGA and Clemson (Alabama has 3....2 if we can flip Tim Smith).

Note on Tim Smith from the Alabama perspective (they think he sticks...but are worried about UF and are "keeping an eye on it":

-- Hearing that Tim Smith is targeting a return to Tusacloosa for the LSU game on an unofficial visit next month, and will take an official visit after the season, likely in December. He does plan to sign early. That's big considering he hasn't been on campus since June, and has been to Florida three times since committing to UA in July. As we reported earlier this month, Sal Sunseri is expected to be out in Florida next week during the Tide's bye week to see Smith. He will also take an official visit to Florida, and potentially LSU. The four-star DL is having a great senior season -- 45 tackles, including 24 tackles for a loss, 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

So basically... we ain’t getting Smith.

More coaches getting out on the road:

Greg Knox will be visiting Alabama DT commit, Tim Smith on Friday night at his game - and David Turner will be visiting DT commit Gervon Dexter at his Friday night game.

Shouldn't Knox be looking for a RB somewhere?

More evidence we aren’t getting Smith. It’s like we aren’t even trying.

That's from the Alabama perspective - they are arrogant and think they get everybody (as well they should). Until Smith does the "I'm shutting it down" tweet or similar interview I'd keep an eye on it. I just hope they are also pursing one more heavy DL if we miss on Smith.

On that note, Jahquez Robinson (CB out of Jax) actually tweeted that he's shutting it down and sticking w/ his Alabama commit. He's ranked just outside of the top 300, which is lower than our two CB commits (Helms & Rogers out of Texas).

Also, Alabama thought they had our Safety commit Rashad Torrence in the bag before he committed to us (he's also ranked in the 300's, which is "low" for Alabama).

Tim Smith was in Gainesville for FNL and has been to all of our home games. For somebody committed elsewhere he has given us lot of love. I just don't trust his coach at Sebastian River that keeps pushing kids to Bama.
Rian Davis commitment was strange because none of the in state 3 gave him the time of day.
I have no idea why we did not pursue Tyler Davis harder.
We have slow played Jahquez Robinson all year long. I guess we have not evaluated him very high.
I wanted the two DT's that Georgia has committed from Florida (Brinson, Carter) in our class. Brinson at least visited, Carter was totally disinterested.
