5.7-5.5 — 3-star/All Region Selection:considered among the region’s top prospects and generally among the nation’s top 800-850 prospects overall, a potential All-Conference candidate and a player deemed to have mid to low-end pro potential and ability to impact at the college level.

5.2-5.4 — 2-star/Low End FBS prospect: considered a mid-major prospect with limited pro potential and expected to contribute 1-2 years at a high level maximum or often as a role player.

This is interesting. The Clemson boards have it posted. Hopefully we don't lose him, we had a good discussion on him a few pages back. He seems like a kid who can contribute right away (at Nickel or Star).

Agree w/ this completely. At this point, since we aren't landing 'elite' players, we need to keep taking large numbers along the line (5 or more per class) - and hope that 2 or 3 pan out. OL is hard to project, so if we get enough bodies on the roster we can have the luxury of developing a few of them....and hopefully, at some point (year 4, 5?) we start landing those elusive 'elite' OL's (like UGA & Alabama seem to do).

I was reading a Clemson article about their current class of true freshman. Surprisingly, they took a lot of low ranked kids as flyers in their last class (this current class is almost elite across the board, w/ a couple of lower ranked kids added in, but their 2019 class had a lot of fillers/low ranked prospects). They do a good job in evaluating, but they took a few kids ranked over 1000 overall. This tells me that Johnson must be a pretty damn good prospect.

Zero percent chance we get him with that roster of schools after him. If you were a WR in the south right now, where would you go? Clemson, LSU, and Bama all look pretty darn good to me. I could see a kid coming here over UGA though. That offense is boring for everyone but OL and running backs. Maybe TEs.

I'd like to see at least 2 4-stars+ in each class. There's usually only around 350 4-stars, very few are OL's. So I'm fine w/ some 3-stars (even UGA, Alabama, etc take 3-star OLs). We just need to get them on campus. If we can have 16, 17 OLs w/ 12+ being non-true freshman the odds of 7 or 8 of them panning out are much higher. Butters signed 2 in one class and only one is left (TJ Moore) and he's been a bust. You can't have classes with only 2 OLs! (same w/ the DL, like our last two classes - inexcusable). This is the SEC, "a line of scrimmage league"!!
