You can make the argument that SEC championship is fair because still playing ten conference games, regardless of who is opting out. But definitely pointless to have a national playoff when 50 teams aren't playing.

Couple that with Kibry Richt's comments that the QB play was sloppy in the scrimmage and that led this kid to quit. They were saying that they think agents got to the kid and told him to get out while his stock was high.
