They were stopped on the 30 yard line and punting the ball back to us with 1:30 seconds left on the clock and us having all 3 timeouts.

We would have won in regular time; though we wouldn't have deserved to.

Heck, we almost went to overtime with 27 seconds left on the clock and Trask driving us into FG range.

All logical points, but at the same time watching that schit show. Did you believe it was going to happen, or did you have that feeling especially after half we were really just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Trask three turnovers, the extremely questionable play calling especially in the redzone, and of course our defense. This was a team with 57 scholarship players starting a true freshman with a bb gun for an arm.

remember how pissed Spurrier and Meyer looked when they had to meet the press after a game that we lost? SOS would often talk about the losses in the summer. you just tell how much it ate at him. we later learned Meyer couldn't even sleep and would vomit.

Mullinz will never have that.

Mullins is very comfortable losing. and if you were a multi-millionaire because you were 500ish coach, you would be too.

Exactly, these are the types of frustrating games we always lose. We can never luck one out like Barn seems to annually.
sure we do. 2 years ago it was corn dog and this year it's Ugly.

that's really all we're ever going to be able to expect from Mullinz.

He knows that UGAy win bought him many more 6 million plus payouts.

I figured I'd read the whole thread before commenting that you never see Bama doing this kind of trash. It simply wouldn't be tolerated. I can't even imagine seeing one of Saban's kids acting a fool like these guys do, especially after what are just routine stops. Part of the job of the coaches is to turn these kids into men and that obviously isn't happening here. And it's damn embarrassing to watch.

What do you expect when our head coach shows up at the post game press conference dressed as Darth Vader?

Anyone ask why he called a timeout?
I have no problem with a timeout IF he calls right before the kickers foot hits the ball. Its called... let me see... ICING THE KICKER. Instead, he calls timeout to let them get organized. There was a good chance they get a delay.penalty without the TO and then they're out of FG range.
Dan Mullen and staff can't recruit.
Dan.Mullen and staff have at least one head scratcher a game than can cost us the game. Every game.

Mullen is a.marginal improvement over Sharkey. But he's no Richt. Richt could recruit.

Prediction, 40-0 for nostalgia

Mullen have had covid which caused deleterious effects to his brain. So he can be removed for medical health reasons.... right?

Mullen is a prideful loser. Everyone knows how poorly coached the defense is, but he refused to do anything about it or even acknowledge it.
Please let me rephrase: "Mullen is a pitiful loser. Everyone knows how poorly he coaches. Refuses to do anything about this goomer he has as a DC, and too pig-headed to even acknowledge it."

CDM is full of crap. If Mullen is upset about the red zone play, he’s needs to take a hard look in the mirror. You don’t sit the best TE in the country, if he’s healthy and ready to go, and NOT expect there to any consequences; too many missed opportunities.

Not having Pitts is not why we lost the game. Sure we could have used him but we had 600+ yards of offense. Here's my ranking of what cost us the game:

  1. The "shoe" personnel foul. Yes a singular play but without it we had forced a punt with 1:50 something remaining and all of our timeouts. Barring a turnover, we either score (TD or FG) or go into OT. So yeah, that singular play.
  2. Three turnovers. I'm on the Trask train but for Heaven's sake, take the flippin sack. Now I will say this, if they will call a personal foul on the shoe, why didn't they call a foul when the guy taunted Trask?
  3. Offensive play calling. How many times did we try to run it up the gut in the red zone? LSU was ready for it. I can hear GFPC now, "running into the numbers". Also, we didn't seem to have an answer for their blitzes.
  4. 3rd and dwag is alive and well. I want to put more blame on our defense, but Marco, Trask, and Mullen have to own this one. At one point, they said we had been in the red zone 5 times and only had 17 points. I'd love to blame the dwag but defense got enough stops. This one is on Marco and the offense.
  5. Game management. Someone on the board keeps harping on Mullen's poor game management (I think it is FireFooley). Calling a timeout with 21 seconds left letting their field goal unit stroll leisurely onto the field. Did he really do that? Yes he did.
