CeCe Jefferson has not signed LOI

Somebody explain this to me, why in the world would you pull the offer? I've seen CeCe speak. He seems to be an intelligent and together guy. He's talented. We've all injected all kinds of speculation as to the reasons for the drama. Inject or speculate all you want. We don't know what's going on. It seems to me that we (the coaches) should keep as low key as possible and wait for an answer. What exactly do we lose? Do we feel all better about things because we showed an 18 year old, who may or may not be in the middle of a family squabble, who's boss. Sorry, I don't see it.

What if it turns out he's "playing us". Which by, the way, I doubt. Who ends up looking foolish? The press isn't even talking about it anymore.

I want CeCe at UF. I don't care how long it takes for him to sign it. It's only a distraction for the fans. The players are getting run ragged by the new SC staff. If I were a player, I'd take as much time as I needed and certainly wouldn't sign on NSD. You get to see what coaches are staying and who's not. If nothing else, you get to see who is honest with you.

No one asked him to blast his dad on social media. Don't know where you're getting that from. My point is simple...we don't need the drama and he's no better than any other recruit. I just don't think you're wise to allow this type of crap to drag out, as it sets a piss poor example for future recruits to follow. He, like all the others, knew damn well when signing day was and should have had his LOI in like the rest of them. He's defended his dad's shenanigans, so you nor I know who's telling the truth. All I do know is I would have told him to have it by now or hit the bricks. If Mac wants to allow him to continue to say he'll have it in "soon", then that's his prerogative but I wouldn't play these games with him or his father.

I know I'm going to get blasted for injecting basketball into football thread, but we had 4 guys committed in basketball and only 2 sent in LOIs on signing day, and that was months ago and we're still waiting on the other two. Nobody's complaining about that (unless you count me, right now). The kid seems like he's all Gator and is due some time to evaluate the coaching change; he does appear happy with how it turned out and keeps telling everyone he's a Gator; I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he's going to get it done, soon hopefully.

I'm with you. I think only us fans are distracted and don't feel like this will effect team chemistry. He's trying to save the embassment fo his family. I think UF and Mac have handled this perfectly. Basically not doing much, but hiring a great replacement for TW. The Gators will be fine. He can join if he wants, or go if he wants. Our toes are still tappin'.

It's hasn't been a week yet!!! He can't even come into campus for another 3 months. What does it matter? His dad is obviously a loon. That's not CeCe's fault. I could see if we were in April or May. Or CeCe was singing praises to UF while also to another team. But that's not what happened.

Sure. Let's shut down the future of a kid because his pops is acting ridiculous. That'll go over nicely on the recruiting trail.

This is where the line is drawn between those who are annoyed and those who aren't by this message board saga. CeCe Jefferson doesn't owe you or I anything. As indecision with teenagers happens with regularity, I doubt the coaching staff even flinched. He's made it clear from the start where he wanted to be and it was his father's antics combined with the reaction of message boards that served to drive the drama. Be annoyed with the manipulative father but not the kid.

You're assuming this is all his father. No one knows that to be true. Would you be OK with this if he was 2* prospect? I think not.
