I agree. And my point, which I think you also agree with, is that big wins like this don't matter if there's no championships to follow. They just keep coaches with empty trophy cases around longer.

Now for a rebuilding program like Arkansas, it's different. Big wins like this build momentum to continue the rebuild and improvement. Since this is your four, we shouldn't still be in rebuild mode; however, if we win this game and get a top five recruiting class due to the positive momentum, then I will feel a slightly better about this program's direction even if we don't win the SEC this year.

All of that said, I have as much confidence in Mullen as you do, and I'm not holding my breath. Last year's team, should have been very special, and he blew it. So far, there's no evidence that he's learned from any of his mistakes.
Tru dat.

that's really too bad because we don't have much run defense without him. Good thing it's just bama.

I struggle to think of any one player we could less afford to lose due to lack of depth at the position. obviously AR would be more important if we had a coach that played him. but that's about it.

Now comes the price to pay for recruiting nothing but microdefensive ends/ blitz rush specialists and safeties to play linebacker.

And the price of hiring your buddy the Graduate Assistant instead of a real linebacker coach.

I feel like Hopper SHOULD be the backup middle linebacker. He is the only real linebacker in the group... but of course he hasn't been on the field because we're still trying to convert safeties instead.

The Diabate and Moon **** show will be interesting. No offense to those guys they're both talented, and it wouldn't surprise me if they have careers in the NFL as outside linebackers. we just don't play it outside linebackers.

Alabama's guards are going to be eating them like snack cakes.

let the excuses begin.

This Bama game is the worst theater experience I've ever had.

I'm no LB guru like some of you fuchs but I actually thought Moon has looked pretty good in the middle that last 2 games. Pretty good may be stretching it but he's for sure looked better there than the past 8 years while getting raped by tackles coming off the edge.

Back when freshmen couldn't be on the "varsity", we had a separate "Baby Gators" team of only freshmen. I watched one Friday afternoon when Baby Gators vs Baby Bulldogs played (back n '62-'63). The Gators lost their 4th fumble. As they tried to trot off the field, the coach waved them back on. (you broke it, you fix it). Next play, the bulldog RB got smashed to smithereens by our RB turned LB. A guy named Larry Smith.

My first UF v Barn game was Baby Gators v Baby Tigers long about 1971. My middle sibling was a walk on QB for the Baby Barners, but it never developed beyond sitting on the freshmen team bench.

I'm flying out of DCA (Washington Reagan Airport) heading to Florida for the game this weekend. Just had a Stella at the airport bar, $12.38...plus $2 tip. Oooooof!

Last time I went to an away Bama “home” game was in 1987 & I enjoyed watching the emergence of some dude wearing #22 on his jersey in the Gator backfield. We pulled off the upset and barely made it back to the car alive leaving Legion Field.

For that price I hope you mean you got a knobjob from a girl named Stella and "Oooooof!" is your happy-time sound. It's a little unusual but it's part of what makes you special I suppose.
