Has anyone mentioned Luke Fickell? I personally think he'd be a terrible hire but a he'd be a home run hire amongst the homosexual and special Ed community.

Bye Week. In season vacation. Everything else, completely irrelevant.
Our HC Dan on vacation. No way! I am sure he has fired up the Gator jet and gone recruiting. Caught some of the Berekely Prep win over Arch Mannings Newman team Friday night. HC Kirby got a ton of air time watching Arch, and flashing his big red polo on the sideline. Sounds UGA is in the running for Cooper's kid. I am sure Danny Boy was around some where but I missed him. No maybe not. Maybe he and TG were dumpster diving in the Portal trying to beef up next years dismal class.

Like UCF's signature win was Auburn. Whenever one of these G5 teams beat a blue blood who is in a down year the internet goes nuts. It doesn't matter how long the blue blood has been down or has absolutely no interest in the bowl game match up. "Cincy beat ND! Hey I've heard of ND (unlike every other team Cincy plays). Cincy must be good".

The polls are horribly inaccurate. Most years, only the top 2-3 are actually the top 2-3 teams in the country. The rest of the top 10 could be in any order. You could take 11-25 and randomly pick them from a hat and be just as accurate. This year they have Cincy at #2. It's a joke. They'd lose to anybody else in the top 10. Talent beats talent. Unless, ya know, Mullenz is on the sidelines.

Isn't it a little early to be crying about needing a safe space?

Not even sure what that means. I’m not saying you need a safe place. I’m asking who is your guy?
After my post you mentioned Brady or Johnson. So which is your guy? Put it out there. Who do you want to be the next coach that you believe we would have a great shot at?

Nope
UCF beat Auburn in a meaningless bowl game.
There’s a difference.

Don’t disagree about the polls .

I do disagree about Cincy and other teams in the top ten, I think they’re very competitive with all, with the exception of Georgia.

They’re on a Bama level this year that Even Bama isn’t on.

I guess we will see as this all plays out.

I find myself in a conundrum.

On the one hand, Cincinnati’s schedule doesn’t warrant their ranking nor does it warrant their inclusion in the playoff.

On the other hand, they’ve been hanging around the top ten with no signature wins until ND this year.

I hate all that group of 5 discussion every season and should they be in or out.

With so many teams losing a game or two this year, maybe an undefeated group of 5 team should sneak in at a 4 seed.
Hell, that’s what ND has done for years.

I'm pretty sure that Auburn team beat Bama and Georgia that year. The weren't necessarily down. And UCF absolutely embarrassed em in that bowl. That was a way better win than cincy beating a notre dame team that's struggled in most of their games this year.

ESPN called it the longest game ever all evening which is par for the course for the network of drama.

It was a game with the most overtime sessions but it was no where near as long as the 7OT game A&M and LSU played a couple of years ago.

More exaggeration and deception
Nor as exciting. Watching inept teams go back and forth failing to convert is not as exciting as that A&M-LSU game was.

Yes. I'd take a chance on Joe Brady or even Brian Johnson over him in a heartbeat.

It has nothing to do with the season as interim. It has to do with the fact Fickell has spent his entire life minus one year in the state of Ohio, his mentor is Jim Tressel, and he bleeds gray and red or whatever the OSU colors are.

You hire him and it's really a lose lose scenario. If he fails you've hired another failure, and if he's successful you're praying OSU makes the CFP every year and doesn't come steal your coach. I can handle a coach bolting for the NFL, but I'd prefer not to be a laughing stock like tenerc when Kiffy spurned them for USC.

I believe it's smegma pewter and queef ruby.

I would agree if it wasn’t a bowl game.
Still Auburn finished that season
Ranked 7th before the bowl game.

Bowl games don’t mean anything in today’s game.
Well, I’m sure it meant a lot more to UCF since that was Frost’ last game as head coach.

Uh oh. we got us a directional school fan here.
No dumbass. I was saying that ucfs win over Auburn was more impressive than Cincys win over notre dame. As Iron head is acting like fickell is making history or some shcit

This season is over and our recruiting class will suck. Just keep Mullen until after NSD and then go out and hire an up and coming coordinator.
One condition, they have to broadcast him firing TG live.

Good lord,
I just happen to believe a regular season game means more than a bowl game.

Damn, relax people.
I thought we were having a discussion.

What the ****??

I just can’t understand this train of thought.

Why a coordinator?

It’s not like we haven’t tried coordinators before.
If anything, we’ve had much more success with Head coaches, even one from a school that’s a group of five.

Why would we hire a coordinator with no experience running a program?

I just can’t get behind that.

You want another Mullen? Butters?
It’s a gamble either way. At least with a coordinator, you may wind up with a successful one. There aren’t any active coaches with NCs on their resume except for Saban, Dabo, Jimbo or Mack Brown. Who amongst those are you gonna get or want?

G5 Head Coach? P5 Coordinator? One can have both, you know. Georgia has an OC who turned a terrible G5 program into a big winner. Plus nfl coordinator as well.

You want another Muschamp or Mac?

That’s what your looking at with a coordinator.

You are right though…, it’s a gamble either way but, IMO, we’ve had better luck with former head coaches. Which doesn’t have to be a coach with a Natty on his resume’.

Either way, it’s a gamble, one we need to take.
