No, it was not the same. A casual observer might assume that but Mullen adapts for the specific QB. He is very good like that!

He is an excellent game day and preparation coach.

He is just not a good recruiter.

As a coach for over 30 years I can tell who is good on game day and who is not.

Mullen just did not care about recruiting that much.

He did not have good recruiters on his staff (as a general rule)

Although he was trying to get them before he was fired.

Too many keyboard coaches out there who prefer their delusions to reality.

It is all about the record to them as they really do not know anything about the game.

They get their opinion from TV analysts and could not break down a play if their life depended upon it.

The TV generation.

I am a member of it but I was fortunate to be intelligent with intelligent parents who taught me that the average person is as dumb as a stump and everything needs to be verified.

The intelligence community also taught me that before I went back to school and got a pair of doctorates and started teaching and coaching.

The maxim that I live by is "Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear! And verify everything!"

My Dad also taught that "People are Stupid. Judge for yourself."

Good advise. Particularly on a forum.

The 2 highlighted statements are not compatible.

If he were an excellent game day and preparation coach, the 2 LSU losses would not have happened. (And some of the other losses.)

Fans like you never try to be fair. You are too wrapped up emotionally in needing for your team to win in order to validate yourself. That's is true of most football fans. Not a very bright or psychologically health group of people. Just watch the Finebaum show after Bama loses or any gator site after we lose.

I'm not sure that you have characterized Law's fandom correctly. I think he'd be okay with losing as long as we were throwing for 400+ yards a game. :)

Running Gator is gone for good. The last thing we need is a more arrogant version of Sigmund Freud on this board.

Now go “running” off to Swamp Gas, good sir!

Darn it Ox. I was going to ask him why the heck he needed two Ph.Ds or whatever he was blabbering about. If I hear that somebody has one I start to wonder. Two and I really start to wonder.

This is hands down the dumbest sh!t I’ve read here since Alvin was booted into oblivion. Without otherworldly talent to overcome his crayon-riddled playbook, Dan’s offense has no chance in hell. Add in his ridiculously poor game management skills (or, the total lack of) and absolute refusal to pay attention to details (wristband debacle, did he even practice special teams?), and you get exactly what we’ve seen over the past 4 years: a non-stop sh!tshow that ultimately ended with a team that quit on their coach. A coach who never figured out that putting points on a scoreboard matter more than anything else; and everything must go into that effort.

When Dan was at MSU, he once said going to UF was a “lateral move”. We all took those words to mean that he was saying MSU was just as good of a job as UF. No one thinks that. But I think he was admitting that he couldn’t do any better at UF than he doing at MSU. It was the only time he was ever honest to us. Dan’s biggest problem is that deep down, he knows we won championships in 06 and 08 in spite of him. Not because of him. He’s not a good coach, and he knows it.

OMG. I have been longing for that spinner for years. Thank you for bringing it back!

I read this sentence regarding Cousin Eddie and I could not even laugh. I thought I would vomit, but I could not. I literally had no reaction. I was overcome with stunned silence and just froze. It is just such a simple sentence but it is possibly the most inane thing said regarding football as to any of the last 3 garbage head coaches UF has had over the past 11 years.

.

Guy says he doesn't brag about to post grad degrees, brags about two post grad degrees. Claims people are stupid, because of the "intelligence community".....
