I've been away from GC for a few weeks so I just now got to see/read this thread. I'm glad you are home and recovering and pray that you will continue to fully recover.
2022 has had a pretty rough start for my family. My MIL has been battling cancer for a bit over 3 years. She started a downhill trend around Christmas. She had been mobile without assist up until about that time. She quickly deteriorated to the point where my wife or her brother had to help her go to the bathroom. On Friday the 7th we called in Hospice. They put her in a hospital bed where she stayed until around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, the 9th. She breathed her last with her family around her. The funeral service was officiated by her two kids, my wife and her brother. Even my youngest son, age 13 got up and spoke some very kind words and my 17 y/o son sang a beautiful song for her.
Since her passing, and including her passing there have been a total of five people in our little town that have passed away as of yesterday. Also a neighbor down the road from us had one of her legs amputated this week as well. And to top things off, my own dad was put in the hospital this past weekend with Covid and he also had a stroke. Fortunately, the stroke doesn't seem to have had any lasting effects so we are very thankful for that.
