I've been away from GC for a few weeks so I just now got to see/read this thread. I'm glad you are home and recovering and pray that you will continue to fully recover.

2022 has had a pretty rough start for my family. My MIL has been battling cancer for a bit over 3 years. She started a downhill trend around Christmas. She had been mobile without assist up until about that time. She quickly deteriorated to the point where my wife or her brother had to help her go to the bathroom. On Friday the 7th we called in Hospice. They put her in a hospital bed where she stayed until around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, the 9th. She breathed her last with her family around her. The funeral service was officiated by her two kids, my wife and her brother. Even my youngest son, age 13 got up and spoke some very kind words and my 17 y/o son sang a beautiful song for her.

Since her passing, and including her passing there have been a total of five people in our little town that have passed away as of yesterday. Also a neighbor down the road from us had one of her legs amputated this week as well. And to top things off, my own dad was put in the hospital this past weekend with Covid and he also had a stroke. Fortunately, the stroke doesn't seem to have had any lasting effects so we are very thankful for that.

I'm sorry for your families lost. I know all to well losing a family member especially during covid. My mother had to die alone because hospice wouldn't let us come up and be with her. The hospital aloud us to be there when we took her off of life support but she was a fighter and survived for 2 days in which they made us leave after 3 hours. So I know times get rough.

I pray for you and your family to find comfort during these tough times. I also appreciate your prayers for myself and my journey. Hope you and yours have a blessed day!

Sorry to hear of your loss @Nalt. Compound that with the NCG loss and 2022 is a horrific year for you.

About 6 months ago, my best friend's mom had a similar procedure. She died 3 days after the surgery because something leaked and caused sepsis.

This exact same thing also happened to a good friend of mine. :rip:

Little update for anyone still following this topic. I was able to get my 2 drains taken out tonight which I'd just one step closer to getting back to normal.

Also feel like I'm finally starting to get some real energy back and didn't feel as drained today.

Well, duh. When you remove drains, you're gonna feel less drained.

Been a while since I gave an update so I'll give one. Everything has gone very well I finally healed up a few weeks ago and never had any complications with infection or anything. Honestly believe that the power of prayer from everyone helped me through a lot of it and I'm forever grateful to anyone on here that prayed for me during these last few months.

I'm currently scheduled for my reversal this Tuesday and I'm ready for the bag to come off so i can recover and get back to work. I'm a bit nervous though because my wife had a friend go through this exact surgery I'm having and she's about 3 weeks post surgery and has been having a lot of complications. I'm hopeful I don't have the same issues as her.

Anyhow I hope all is well with everyone and I hope you all have a blessed week

Sorry I'm not nearly as active as I used to be and I'm just seeing this. I have twin boys 3 years old that I've been dealing with way more since I'm home. Thank you for the concerns I gave an update but I'll let you know I've been doing way better and I'm actually scheduled to get my reversal on Tuesday. I'll keep you updated if you'd like.

Surgery went really well but I'm in a lot of pain in my abdomen. Way more painful than the 1st time around. I feel as if nothing I do is comfortable. Sorry for the venting and sounding a complete puss but it's honestly that bad. I'll keep everyone updated when I can. Thank you for anyone praying for me.

Praying for you now. Heal well. Make sure they double check everything if the pain persists.

I am sorry for your pain. That is nothing pleasant. May God heal you quickly, fully, mercifully, and with as little discomfort as possible.

Praying for you brother. Pain is so debilitating 'cause you can't get away from. Resist the urge to take enough pain killer to reduce it to zero, though.
