A lot of people want Ethan White to be processed, but look how damn big this kid is. If Hev thinks he can be developed I’m all for letting this kid stick

I don't know anything abou this kid, but we have a few dozen reaches on this roster. Almost none in this class. If we reach on a huge OL, I'm not losing any sleep at all.

I'd like to hear more about EE's playing in bowl games for the season prior to their actual enrollment
How advanced would a recruit have to be, two weeks out of high school, to play in a bowl game with a team he has at best 3 or 4 practices with??

Rivals updated their Rivals 250 this week (I think this is the last update).

Pretty sickening to see how many Alabama (#1) has on this list. Other rankings: A&M (#2), LSU (#3), UGA (#6), Arkansas (#11), UT (#13), Auburn (#14), Ole Miss (#17), Miss State (#20). FSU #16....and Scott Frost sitting at #15.

We're currently ranked #21 on Rivals. If we move up to #10 to #12, we likely finish - at best - 5th in the SEC.

Team rankings:
2019 Team Rankings

We only have 3 commits on the list and likely end up w/ 5, possibly 6. Which means we likely finish around #12.

Only 29 5-stars. LSU has 3, Alabama 1, UGA 1, Auburn 2, A&M 2, South Carolina 1, FSU 1, Clemson 2

Of note:

Chris Steele is #13 overall
Elam up to #110
Hopper down to #129
Black up to #155
Wright down to #172

Quashon Fuller #246

*No Zipperer, Summerall, Harvey, Tarquin....or any OL for that matter.
*Kimbrough is now a 4-star on Rivals

He looks overweight. 247 lists him at 360 which is too big. Savage will deal with that though. He plays nasty like Eguakun does. Rivals and 247 have him as a tackle. I'd be surprised if he plays that position in college.
Imo we put him at Guard and let him maul ppl. He’s huge

Based on his tape, I think the reason we are signing him is depth. This is a guy who has played every position on the o-line but center. That has value. But man, his footwork makes me think of Andrew Mike. :fear:
Hopefully I'm wrong. The staff has seen far more of White than I have.

The OL improved all season under Coach H. The kid has the size to be a force with the right coaching. We’ll see.

If he has slow feet, that could cause some issues. He was an early take and may not of had a commitable offer if it was offered today.

That said, I really don’t know how slow his feet are or not. He’s a big dude that is supposed to be ogre strong. If Hev thinks he can coach him up, great. We appear to be fine on numbers on the OL.

And people are forgetting about Reese on the OL. Is that Grad Transfer going to happen?

First of all Savage will get him down to his optimal weight in no time at all. All the while making him even stronger.

From what I know the Reese transfer is still happening but then if he's given a high enough grade he might go to the NFL.

There's appropriate ways to push kids out; we did it w/ Jamaal Abrams (who is now starting to get some SEC schools inviting him for visits...although he probably ends up at UAB or Troy). At this point, you're right, it's too late. Signing day is a few weeks away and it wouldn't be a good look. We also are recruiting other kids at his HS.

His highlights remind me of Jawaan Taylor. He is so much bigger than the DTs and DEs he’s lining up against. He did not need good footwork or to be in shape. He dominates on his size alone. I’ve seen White stand straight up out of his stance and push a DE down. This is a guy we will have to trust the coaches on. Usually I can find actual game film on a commit. He’s one of the few i have struck out on.

I'm not a member so I can't access the article, but Jalon Jones gave a recent interview where he said that Mullen as secured a few silent commits. This doesn't surprise me, but I don't understand the strategy. What is the benefit of having a recruit keeping his commitment silent?

Sometimes commits want to stay silent to avoid family or hometown pressures..

I hadn't heard this on Jalon, happened a few weeks ago:

  • Jalon Jones, 4 stars, Henrico (Richmond, Va.): The season recently ended for Henrico in Virginia’s Class 5 Region B championship with a 40-6 loss to Highland Springs. However, Jones’ season ended a couple weeks earlier after he received a 2-game suspension for his part in a fight during the first round of the playoffs.
