If he hadn’t made the stupid choke sign at UGA none us would even remember he was employed there.

I think at some point... we just need to look at most of these coaches as hired guns for a period of time and not worry about what school they went to*. Spurrier spoiled us.

(*except... phởk Chump)

Anyway, he's given us time to observe who would be a DC better than Grantham when he leaves or is let go.

I think Grantham's a good coordinator but not for 2 mil a year. Wed rather over pay a coordinator so we can look like we're being competitive when the rest of the assistants are among the lowest paid in the league.

Grantham just got a contract extension and raise to $1.8 million. Unbelievable!

Todd Grantham gets contract extension with heftier buyout clause

Todd Grantham gets contract extension with heftier buyout clause

He got this deal mid-January, per the article cited: "Grantham was given a contract extension and a raise, according to a copy of his new agreement obtained by Swamp247 through an open records request. The Florida defensive coordinator is now set to make $1.8 million per year and the new deal he officially inked on Jan. 14 will run through the 2021 season."

Sammon's latest in The Athletic does a nice job of painting the picture around this Bengals courtship and what to expect on TG moving forward.

Summary: He is likely to go, at some point, but only to a HBC position or a better NFL DC situation than the Bengals. Reminds that he turned the Raiders down and stayed at Louisville at one point and that he hasn't even listened to sideways moves at the NCAA level.

Todd Grantham staying at Florida will help the Gators stay... (subscription required)

Yes, because, as the latest Will Sammon article says, "there are only 32 of those jobs"
Wouldn’t interviewing even if you weren’t interested in the job be good for your career? Keep your name out there as someone who the NFL was interested in......and you turned down.

Absolutely - and he did this with the Raiders while at Louisville.

If you get asked as a first choice to come interview, you do yourself a favor by being polite and going to listen to what they have to offer. That is being a professional. Just like coaches, team operations personnel move around. Its a small small world after all.

If you don't interview, says you're not interested in an NFL job...
