I really hesitate to reply to this quote since this is a recruiting thread and the back and forth banter (I am guilty too) can get annoying, but you are a twat waffle. You jump on leogator for saying something as if he is lying then you self admit that you don't know if what he is saying is false? Geesh. Why dont you take some of your own medicine next time before you jump on someone for saying something you don't like and only reply if you can actually prove it wrong.
Do you feel better now sally?

I’d rather he coach up 4 and 5 stars instead of 3 star diamonds in the rough.

Not what I said, but you must think all blue chips are created equal. There are plenty of 260 lb BC’s, but I don’t want them over a 310lb 3* that can squat a car. It’s not about a diamond in the rough, it’s about finding physically ready kids that are coachable, regardless of stars. We aren’t talking about CB’s and QB’s

Georgia gets a commitment from 247's #39 overall player, 4-star OT Tate Ratledge. Their class is now ranked #5....our class falls to #8 (currently FSU and Miami are ranked higher).

What really sucks about this is they're KILLING it on the OL. We have a shot at only 3 blue-chip OL's in this class (unless something unexpected happens)....of those 3, I expect we get 1...maybe (Braun, Rivers, and Walker). Other than that, we are in on a few kids ranked 400+.

There's a problem in the recruiting office at UF. If you still think 'stars don't matter' or 'we'll be just fine' you are whistling past the graveyard. Something needs to change asap!

Seems like Rivers is all Miami now so maybe only 2.

Yep, and Walker seems to be leaning Miami (flipping from South Carolina). Hopefully something changes, but to only be serious contenders for 3 blue-chip OLs is pathetic. We should be in on 10+, and land 2 or 3. We've signed 11 OLs in two classes, only 4 have been blue-chip and 1 is gone/injured (JUCO transfer). If we sign 3 or 4 in this class w/ zero blue-chip that will give us 4 out of 15.

CRob is visiting Lawrance Toafili. Now according to his Hudl he's 6'1", 198. According to 247 he's 6', 175 4.57 forty with the latter results being verified at the Opening.

UF is recurring Derek Wingo hard. Wingo has been committed to PSU since December 2018.

Didn’t I read we’re gonna do that Barbecue thing again with recruits soon? Any good chance of us actually landing a commit?

Reading on some other boards about the sh*t-show that is UF recruiting and there are some serious internal problems.

Mullen has assembled a rag-tag, disorganized motley crew of misfits in the recruiting office - he's currently trying to fix it....but the initial hires have been a disaster, including Begley who came from MSU (she's stabilized, but she her issue w/ banging the MSU baseball coach caused her to have to "hide out" for a few months while it settled down - a few months she wasn't really doing her job).

Otis Yelverton was recently arrested for stalking - and likely gets fired.

Cordell Landers did something, not sure what, and was let go.

Chuck Cantor - who was a buddy of Grantham - was hired to run the show....fired.

And apparently some of the UAA have commented to beat writers comments along the lines of "...we're not sure exactly what they do all day..."

Add to this that our recruiting staff is signifantly understaffed compared to our rivals who are out-recruiting us.

Been trying to respond to this for days, so here goes...

I was told basically the exact same thing you posted, and in addition, that several sources talking to my 'guy' also all used the same words when describing the direction of recruiting - unorganized and no communication. It was stunning to hear that he was told by these sources that folks in the building, to paraphrase you, "...aren't sure exactly what they do all day..." WTactualF?

He related a story as told to him, that a highly desired recruit committed to an out of state school, worked out an unofficial visit to UF with one of the assistant coaches; all he asked for was a hotel room for him and his GF. He was told it would be handled. The kid shows up with his GF, and they have nowhere to stay. It wasn't handled. So, unorganized and no communication, and they were left hanging.

It's pretty disconcerting that we're hearing this from probably different sources and that they're saying the same things. CDM seems like a good gameday coach but does't have a handle on this aspect of the job.

2020 ILB - we could use him and it would keep him in FLA, from STA.
Derek Wingo, 2020 Inside linebacker - Rivals.com

Wingo would be a huge pick up. I'm surprised he committed to Penn State so early....and that UGA, Alabama, and the other usual suspects haven't pressed him hard. He is a stud, would be a 5-star most years. He's mentioned Miami, Ohio State, UF, Texas A&M and a few others - really surprised not to hear UGA and Alabama (which is good). He'd likely be a three year starter at ILB. He's being pushed by Robinson and Grantham, so that's good.

Recruiting should have an overall "game-plan". DM should keep ongoing score.
Coach Mullen should "thumb-wrestle" for every top recruit.
Multiple consultations with recruiters by Skype video phone = keep them revved-up like half-time speech.
Obeying the rules for phone contact, why not have reservation video Skypes with Jack Youngblood, Steve Spurier? Emmitt Smith, etc. For official visits show highlights of Gator greats at UF, in NFL followed by that retired star telling how UF assured their full good life. (Then go to prisons and present videos of Miami & FSU stars.)

He'd likely be a three year starter at ILB.
He would be the only ILB on the roster.

I honestly have no clue what their plan is. Maybe play numerous stars? I seriously have no idea. There arent even any barely acceptable alternatives.

Oh.... I see. 215 pounds. That's why Uga and Bammer aren't on him. He is going to need at least two years in the weight room.

We don't have the time.

Probably playing walkons again.
