It literally says defensive tackle in his 247 profile that I linkedI see him listed at OT. Is he a two way player?

Well:
1. Coaches are risking seven figure salaries so when they take a guy early, it must mean their evaluation is that he is worth spending a scholarship on.
2. I personally like getting a guy who thinks he has something to prove as a UF recruit compared to someone from say California who thinks UF owes him big time and he can skate on his "talent."
Ej Smith dropped his top 5 is there a chance here or could we possibly be working him behind the scenes like Wingo?
Yes, yes it did. I might’ve had a senior moment.
About the video... looks like the guy playing OT dominated the rusher, but this guy is a DT? Am I having another senior moment?
Edit: Nevermind, that video is of Mincey.
What of field stuff??? He was an academic all American??? Are you thinking of Janoris Jenkins?I'd take another JJ minus the off-field stuff right F'n now.

This was a good article, but not having any first hand experience with the recruiting it left me wondering about the process. I was never recruited nor were my kids, but based on the way Carrieanne Wingo described how Florida recruited her son it sounds like a great way to recruit, and probably would have won me over. Clearly this doesn’t work with everyone (or we’d have nothing but blue chips), but (other than cash or jobs for the folks) what do the other kids want to hear? I get that we have not been winning recently and our facilities are not top notch, and those can be factors, but both Bama and Clemson started recruiting very well before they were winning championships and built Taj Mahal facilities. I read often on this site that Mullen isn’t a great recruiter (and it has been borne out) and we all know Meyer was. But what makes a great recruiter? Does CDM only know one way to recruit, which works with the Derek Wingo’s, but not say the Demarcus Bowman’s of this world?I’m not sure if this has been posted but this is the free article about Wingos decision explained by his mother. Great insight into how Florida won over a family of Noles
The Inside Scoop: A behind the scenes look at how Florida flipped four-star Wingo

Do you think everyone gets the same approach from CDM and it only works with the more thoughtful (i.e. mature) ones? For some reason I just can’t picture Saban kissing anyone’s ass.....He doesn’t kiss ass and doesn’t apologize for it...that’s how I was recruited by Lou Holtz and almost went to USCe

That makes sense and probably helps him avoid having to do much “de-recruiting.”I do t know but I don’t think Mullen is a snake oil salesman and tries to just be upfront and honest but not blow up a kids head which these days is a liability...and Saban etc have support staff and coaches that do that for him as well...it’s either gonna work long term and he’ll win a title or two or he’s gonna be a nice guy that can’t get the job done due to lack of talent...only time will tell
