I was listening to the Steve Russell show on WRUF today while driving to Gville. I can only listen when close to Gville as the AM signal sucks. Teevens, the coach at Dartmouth, has invented some damned robot tackling dummy that works. He said he was watching his kid play with a remote control vehicle and wondered if he could make something to tackle that moved the same way. He has something that moves at a 4.7 speed in the 40. Weighs I think 180 or 220 and is harder to track than a real human being that can be tackled. He say they dont have to tackle in practice on humans because this works better and ENDS most injuries. And when they finally play a game his guys are much better tacklers because they get more tackling practice with fewer injuries and are so damned excited to tackle the opposing team they miss VERY few tackles. Teevens talks long and hard that Russell never got a word in edgewise............anyone heard of this futuristic football practice technique.......?

Buddy Teevens from Dartmouth? you mean Buddy Teevens the Gator, you goofball?

This is why your insistence that you stopped smoking pot in the 70s falls on deaf ears.

I assumed we all knew he was a gator at one time
In 1999, Teevens was the running backs coach at the University of Florida.[2] The next year, he coached the passing game, wide receivers, tight ends, placekickers, long snappers, and holders.[2] He coached tight ends in 2001 along with being the assistant offensive coordinator.[2] In his three years at Florida, he coached under Steve Spurrier.[2]
and why he was on the Steve Russell show that day. But he is the HBC at Dartmouth now and he even had stats to back up his claims...........

MOM, old, old story.

The pussification of football by the Ivy League has been going on for years. They don't allow tackling in practice ,or some bs like that. So Teevens got creative.

Well I listened to Teevens entire speech. He said his def. is much better and missed tackles are way down. One point I didnt make was he said this bot doesnt have legs or a stride to watch to help anticipate turns and stops. So it is harder to tackle. You have to always have good form and position. And with this bot they actually tackle more individually in practice hitting it. I need to see come video of it.

I've been using this training technique on one of those Japanese robot women. God help her when I get a real woman after all this practice.
