Had that been our player doing the crown of the helmet hit to the earhole of the runner he would have been ejected on the spot with little to no review.

The refs gave Auburn at least 6 questionable calls including 2 short first downs and took away our first down called on the field using a video replay from an angle that made it impossible to fairly reverse the call on the field.

We should all email Scott Stricklin and request that he file a formal complaint to Greg Stanky and the SEC office.
The crew should be suspended for at least 2 games and I guarantee you several of them were Auburn grads or have children attending Auburn.

Video don’t lie.

Actually, the crew on the field was not responsible for the call/noncall of targeting. The replay booth in Birmingham makes all replay calls.

If you want to question integrity, and I would certainly agree with you, you should ask the question I have been asking for twenty years which is...Why the he!! Is the conference office in Birmingham where EVERY employee is an Alabama or Auburn grad?
We all know that they should have moved out of Gooberville to Atlanta decades ago.
Nothing will change until the conference decides to step out of the dark ages and move the office just like they moved the championship game to Atlanta.

Mullin said Pierce is goofy anyway and seemed normal in the locker room after the game. Hopeful that the trainers just kept him out as a precaution.
It's not a precaution. You get knocked out, you can't to come back that game. Now he will be in Protocol and they will determine when he can return. Part of it is if you have had previous concussions. I don't know if Pierce has had any prior in game or practice. I hope he is ready to play, but won't be surprised at all if he is held out of LSU. Too bad if he is. His one and only run was pretty badazz until he got hit blatant H to H and the offender lowered his head and didn't even try to use his arms, so it was clearly targeting in my book.

Don't forget, they missed not one, but TWO times that Auburn had 12 men on the field. Neither one got called.

I watched the presser. Mullen said Trask will be fine on Saturday. Zuniga was cleared to play Saturday but would've been at 80% They decided to hold him out unless they needed him. Mullen said he will be 100% for LSU. Davis is fine, just a stinger. He said they'd check on Pierce later in the week. My guess is Pierce won't be available.

Back in the day, the majority of the refs were from Trailerbammer too. I havent seen any numbers recently but I doubt much has changed.

We always expect to get screwed playing Barn or Trailerbammer.

Had a player take the impact testing prior to practice starting. The trainer said he failed it. I looked at her and said that was impossible, it is the assessment.

Could be he just didn't test well.

Basically it came down to three factors:

1) Pierce lowered his head
2) There was no apparent intent to injure, defender didn’t launch up or into Pierce’s head
3) Pierce was not a defenseless player

This was Gary’s and the replay ref that they call up from New York or whoever he sits explanation as to why it wasn’t targeting. I’d be fine with this, except I’ve seen players flagged AND ejected for much less, which is why the rule is fuking stupid.

None of those 3 factors are relevant.

Pierce can lower his head.
There is no requirement for intent.
Pierce does not have to be defenseless.

If I lead with the crown of my helmet and hit you in the hand, that is text book targeting.

And what about the two throways early in the game?? No way Nix looked for any receivers, all he saw was Greenard fixing to plant him.

Not one mention of Trask thus far? Probably the most important injury update we have right now.
I’ve been waiting for an update on his status the most for sure. Thanks swamped for the update. All things considering, pretty great news here. I’d be very surprised to see Pierce. Depth at RB or lack of production anyways there, he’s the least to factor into anything game changing. (No knock on him, just saying with him out. We have capable replacements, more so than other positions.)

My take was most were insurance salesman from jawja or bammer and despised SOS. He lead the league in penalties on his offense each year............hell 1st and 20 was our normal.

GREAT News on the injury and eligibility front!

Amari Burney will be full speed for LSU. He's a key member on special teams and will contribute some in a reserve role on defense.

Luke Ancrum has been cleared to play. He'll provide some much-needed depth in the area we need it the most: the defensive line.

So here are the ones we know at this stage.

UT Amari Burney: Cleared to play

DL Luke Ancrum: Cleared to play

QB Kyle Trask: ACL surgery scheduled for Oct 14th. Status still unclear.

RB Dameon Pierce: Will be cleared from concussion protocol week of November 4th.

DL Jabari Zuniga: Expected back for Vanderbilt.

UT Kavarious Toney: Possibly back for SEC Championship game.

DL Brenton Cox: Out for season.

DB C.J. McWilliams: Out for season.

LB David Reese II: Out for season.

QB Feleipe Franks: In Transfer Portal.
