Any of y'all think CeCe will have an impact this season? If he's as good as him and his dad seem to think he is, especially his dad..he may be very special. It's just hard for a kid coming in during the fall session to have a great impact at any position, especially one in the trenches. Time will tell!

I doubt it. He may get some third down obvious passing play reps. But McCallister is also "that guy" so I dont know.

Guess like with any of these kids it depends on how fast they adjust to the MUCH FASTER college game. Fall practice will be telling..as will how well the defensive linemen do that are here for Spring in Spring ball and the Spring game..if we struggle at D-Line, which I obviously hope isn't the case, he may have more of a chance to get into the games once they start due to a glaring weakness at the position...unless he comes in during fall and plays so well that you absolutely have to play him..like a VHIII or going back a few more years, Percy Harvin.

Mccalister is/was a buck /weakside end. Cox is a strong-side end. He started a few games there when Bullard slid down at tackle, and both will likely start this season.

They will both get a good amount of playing time that is for sure. At 260# I don't think Cox will be on the field at DE when we're in a 3 man front. McCallister at 245-250 certainly won't have his hand in the dirt....My whole point was that if he's playing WDE/Buck he most likely will be dropping into coverage from time to time and although I think he's more of a pass rushing specialist he could give our LB's some support from time to time. Oh he's also considered one of the best athletes on the team....In fact my money would be on him over any of our LBer's in a foot race....

I see him playing in the rotation. Just not for the first few games unless it it late in the game and we are playing second string across the board. Athletic wise, he's a stud, the things against him seeing early playing time is he'll need to come in during the fall and learn a more complex system than HS. He'll have to learn to play against bigger and faster athletes at the college level, He'll have out perform a few guys ahead of him that are also pretty good. I would put money on it he sees the field this year.

I think the same myself. He'll get on the field some this year but big time CFB is leaps and bounds different from HS ball, especially down in the trenches. One of the biggest things is listening to your coaches and knowing the playbook. Guys like him are so gifted that they can get away with freelancing at the HS level. It seems to take a year or 2 for most defensive line learn the ropes.

If we are dropping guys who run 4.8 40s into coverage, it's going to be a very long year.

Have you ever seen Morrison run? We've been dropping Bucks for the last 4 years....granted it's not an every down thing besides Spikes did allright and I heard he pulled a 5.0 at the combine:dunno:

No, we haven't. They been blitzing on almost every down which makes the whole fuktarded concept even more stupid.

Yes, Morrison is slow and pathetic in coverage, but putting a 260 DE who runs two tenths slower obviously isn't the answer.

Keep riding this train. It will happen at approximately the same time as Ronald Powell moving to TE.

I wish he had....he couldn't have been any worse than the 2 converted DE's we put there......BTW McCallister is 245#, Spikes was over 250# and is our all time leader in LBer ints.....Aaaaaaand no one is saying he going to be an every down LB.............OK?

I fear that our DL may look All World in practice this spring and fall against our OL. Unfortunately that may not mean much for the DL and it surely won't fare well for all of us who are longing to see competent offensive output this season.

Our DL will be very good. Bullard is already All Conference caliber. I know some don't understand anything but sacks. Just trust me on this. About half of the others showed flashes of extreme ability and the coaches were raving about two of our guys who redshirted last year.

However, we can't afford to let them do their thing in practice for fear of losing an OL to injury.
