Speaking of Lemons, it always strikes me on Senior Day when we only have a couple of starters and a bunch of walk-ons introduced before the game. What a waste when 15-20 of your 25 recruits of each class (average) don’t make it to a Senior year. Of course, my number does not include the several players that leave after their junior year for the NFL.
That recent shooting where 2 LSU players shot and killed an alleged robber, all while in a vehicle. Maybe some parents decide they don't want their son in dangerous Baton Rouge.? or on a team where players carry an 'easy use' gun. It'll be interesting to observe how much publicity & frets this generates
I wonder if anyone uses a frying pan in Baton Rouge for self defense?

I was stationed in Floyd, where this occurred (Appalachian mountain folk). One traffic light in the whole county.
I worked from a dental trailer pulled around to the elementary schools. Came into town Health Center one day and observed the septic tank inspector run hide 'neath a desk because coming up the walk was a guy whose septic tank dig didn't pass approval. Guy said he was going to kill him. The threat was taken seriously.

2 LSU players were trying to sell some video game console. The guy that answered their ad was in the back seat (truck?) when he supposedly pulled out a BB-gun trying to rob them? Gun looked real so one player drew his gun and shot him dead. Players were questioned and released.
Administration handled it swiftly = they immediately supplied PTSD counselling to the jolted players. I think that the "more" to this story never to show up is Game Console was stolen and this transaction got set up through some shady grapevine. Good thing LSU player was 'packing'. One was a sophomore RB who ran for 600+ yards.

I was born in Bristol and went to school at New River in Dublin. Good times up there! Strange people too but, usually very friendly.
Driving to work when roads iced over you kept your right tires over the 'fall-off' lip to keep from sliding inward into the mountainside. Bunch of guys would get out and start hand-pushing cars past others to unclog cars nosed in to the vertical terrain. Hilarious times.
