He only got a few snaps a game and wasnt on any depth chart Ive seen for 2023 Huskies, but their DBs were solid and it isnt hard to be a step up from what we have, even if he just displaces Moten as a depth piece.
Turner has started 28 games in his career at Washington. He was the starter last year but only played in 4 games due to injuries. He seems to be one of those guys who is really good if he's ever on the field.

As in not enough guys we know can play high level, just that we hope step up? Three years in and two farchen OL coaches, we should have real OTs.
It's like Donk said, we got too many guard types and not enough tackles. That becomes even more problematic as the season goes on due to injuries....then you have to take a guy who just learned to be a decent guard and have to stick him at tackle(George)....everything gets all f #cked up...

This is such a disappointing part of this whole regime. Then you look at Ole Miss who just landed a number of starting OTs from Washington. Where the heck were we? Why do we have barely a functioning line and no coaching changes there for 2 years?

They didn't get their tape to us in time to be considered as serious candidates for transfer.

This exact thing popped into my mind. Hope he is a good DB that will play Anzalone.
From the photo I saw with the Gator coaches he does have a sort of Anzalone hair style. Not as blonde, and more Trevor Lawrence like.
However being a Steeler fan I would prefer the long black style , with a heavy dose of Samoan curl, a la number 43.

But a position of need and welcome to Gainesville.

Seems that our entire OL was just slow as well.

That isnt really the problem given the scheme. We basically run inside zone and outside/split zone about 65% of the time. Power over speed is desirable.

But the scheme should NOT be soooooooooo freakin predictable.

He could put a dangerous offense on the field with his run schemes if he hired an OC who could shape a legit downfield passing game and a who had a good feel for playcalling. Billy has neither so his often good run game gets overshadowed by his weaknesses. Maybe DJ is a guy who can paper over these problems with talent but will he even play for a Napier, or us, if Billy gets the axe?

Not sure exactly what he places but he is big enough to play star. He would sure be helpful there. Washington plays a third safety, usually bigger vs a third corner as a nickel. Id definitely prefer more size to keep us from continuing being a creampuff run defense.
Yes! Might we have someone who can cover a TE? And know TO cover the TE? Or fight through the block of the TE to stop a run?

Pffft. Everyone here knows they don’t play defense in the PAC-10 or whatever it is now. This guy will be lucky to make the Punt Coverage team.
The Pac-whatever doesn't exist anymore, so of course the don't play defense

If our OL isn't slow, are other team's front seven lightning quick?

The button hooks are a joke, and DBs know where to place themselves. Simple.
