The way this works is you are given a slate of 10 games every week and you make ONE pick that you are certain that you got right. You can only pick a team ONCE for an entire season, and the system will not allow you to pick them again. If you get it right, you advance to the next week. If you get it wrong, you get a strike against you. Since it's triple elimination, after your third strike, you are eliminated. The entry fee is $15.

The last one standing wins 85% of the eligible pot, and 2nd place gets the other 15%. In theory, the season could end halfway through if only one person is left. We will continue on all the way to the NC game if that's what it takes to determine a winner, but I would expect to have one long before that.

I will use a slate of 10 games that I think are the biggest toss-ups. These are straight up picks, no spread.

Here are the players:

1. gatormandan
2. RiverRat
3. Mr2Bits

This will be the single thread for the entire 2025 Survivor season – keep all league chatter in here. Every week, I will update the thread and post the stats here.

How to play:

First, you'll now see a "Pick 'Em" tab at the top of the forum. Click on it. When you open it you'll see this page - click this "X" to remove that filter.

Here you will see the open pools. You'll see one open for "2025 NCAA Football Survivor".

Once you click on the pool you want to join, click the "Join Pool" button in the upper right.

Then you can click the "Manage your picks" button in the upper right to view or make your picks. Remember, you can change any of your picks up to 30 minutes before kickoff.

17 strikes in Week 1!

Week 2 is open. Good luck, suckers.

Keep in mind the AP Top 25 isn't out yet, after it does I'll update any rankings.

I obviously have no idea how to play this one. First time I've tried Survivor. I thought you only pick one game. I already have 3 strikes? Oh well, enjoy the donation.
How could you have 3 strikes after 1 week?

You made one pick and got it right. You have zero strikes. The 3 white strikes by your name turn red when you get a strike.

He was making a joke - FSU stood for Fresno State, not Florida State.

Week 2 - 15 total strikes.

After two weeks:

No strikes (13)
1 strike (26)
2 strikes (3)

Texas Tech is loaded with an insane payroll - shocked how many picked Utah to beat them.

Probably trendy socks with martini glasses or something with a touch of whimsy. Just enough to show he has a sense of humor beneath the Italian suits.
  • MarylandGator MarylandGator:
I’m surprised he wears socks at all. I’m imagining Italian Miami Vice energy in a Trans Am.

It was. And now I’m moderately nervous. Will keep you abreast of their status.

I need to do something with my MacBook Air. I’m having to restart it on the regular. I may just buy a new one which is one of my better coping skills.
Apple does a great job of data transfer when upgrading. So smooth. I drag my feet as long as possible when it’s time for a new PC though. Change is hard.

Remember when this place would buzz if we were playing a HUGE game like Texas at home, Now it is dead(ly) bereft of enthusiasm, confidence and being giddy with the idea we could whip a team of this magnitude......... now we are down to discussing phones and tech, Tina Turner and tater tots...........God help us

    @Detroitgator That sounds horrendous
  • Detroitgator Detroitgator:
i nursed it though issues for about a year, but it's causing too many problems/instability now, especially with cloud based files

@MarylandGator, No... I very stupidly enrolled in their developer preview program so that I could use the "my phone" feature with an iphone (it only works with Android in regular windows)... there is NO WAY to "roll back" without a COMPLETE reset, and i can't use a backup image, which would bring over EVERYTHING apps settings wise and make it easy, without it also bringing over the developer issue. So clean install, and yes, files/settings "backed up," but will have to load/organize everything apps/settings/outlook wise
