If we need to throw 70 times to win, we should do it. Screw "establishing the run". In my opinion, the only way to beat Bama is for Trask to torch them for 500+ yards. He's had a legendary season, use every ounce of him you can. Throw every single down.

I have no problem with throwing 70 times a game........ I just don't think our OL can protect Trask if the Defense just ignores any other option.

They are already ignoring any other option.

I doubt he plays, but if he does and they stack the box , they will pay. Emory is not Trask, but he can throw the ball.

Serious question, not trying to be a jackass, but what do you base this on? If he can run and throw well, why isn't he the starter? Is this another bad personnel call by Mullen?

Limited sample size, admittedly, but last year Jones moved the ball (including through the air) vs Auburn's first-team defense (which was pretty good last year) and f$u (which was not). Jones has been run-first this year and his handful of passes have mostly been on short routes, not really going downfield.

I repeat: Emory is not Trask. Trask is the best passing quarterback in the country. Of course, he plays. Emory will not be the best quarterback in the country, but he is an adequate SEC quarterback who will complete passes against a team that stacks the box.

I appreciate your optimism, but I don't think there is enough tape on him to say this. Or to be more accurate, I have not seen anything enough to convince me that this is true.
