Those Bama idiots would take him over someone like Dabo in a heartbeat.
I don’t think Saban will give a sh!t what happens to Bama when he retires. Him having a “coach in waiting” is laughable. When Saban retires, I expect he will try to tab a successor/coach in waiting who he thinks will carry on with his system.
If Napier is successful, that will be as worrisome as when Kentucky wanted Billy D.
If they go for an expendable type, Mullen does come to mind. But I can't believe there is any way in hell they'd be dumb enough to hire his goofy ass. What's the ol' Zooker up to these days - talk about your throw-away HCs.Dabo will be the first call and they will offer him God money. I'd say it's 50/50 but think he probably says no. The expectations are way too high at Bama. He can continue to be a living legend at Clemson and worshipped by the fan base, keys to the town, all that. Or he can sit in Nick's shadow and have half the fan base perennially calling for his ouster for failing to win another conf and national championship, rinse, wash, repeat every single year he comes up short.
I'm of the mindset Bama has a long hard fall from grace because the top guys will be very hesitant to go there due to that expectation and lose lose type situation. For these reasons my theory is they end up with a dude who's relatively ok with taking a massive payout for 3 seasons and a termination. The standard Saban set is simply too high and no one else will come close to it, thus be branded a loser when they could do the same at a different school and be celebrated.

I’ll bet 10 bucks he just quits with no notice and leaves them in a huge lurch.
You can't be in a big lurch when you have the facilities, administration and organization in place. Unfortunately they will be fine.I don’t think Saban will give a sh!t what happens to Bama when he retires. Him having a “coach in waiting” is laughable.

Be fine as in winning NC's? No they won't. With a lesser coach, Bama could fall right to the 8-4 pack like everyone else. They have nowhere to go but down and when Saban leaves the dynasty is over. You can't be in a big lurch when you have the facilities, administration and organization in place. No, I think he'll quit suddenly, like Barry Sanders. Saban isn't the kind of guy that's going to want an announced "swan song" season where everyone can gush and fawn over him. I think he despises that idea.Maybe. Lots of CEOs’ egos spur them to try to shape their organization’s future.
Do you think he’ll hang on way too long like Bobby?
what in bamas history makes you think they are after fired garbage former Florida coaches? If anything history says it's the opposite.
