I guess we gotta thank Mullen for upgrading the meals though. Our last nutritionist was McElwain slinging ****ty BBQ sauce and peanut butter sandwiches out of his office. At least them boys are getting takeout now. Silver linings, folks.

Hell, even Muschamp would’ve stood up to the brass on this issue.
I don't think so. We've never had a competent nutrition program, even under Chimp. The kids go eat at a cafeteria and have a special table basically.

Cafeterias are closed because of covid so.... McDonalds it is.

But we've never had a competent nutrition program or nutrition staff. $aving $$$$

It's funny this is all coming from Diabate...he's the one dude on defense who could probably use about 3 big mac's a day to get up to a reasonable LB weight.

Yep. Great athlete, but it’s obvious that he’s never been coached since he’s been here, and apparently the kid’s never been fed either.

Another example of how the entire program needs to be gutted. Top to bottom, front and back. This place hasn’t been running on all cylinders in years. There’s no telling what our real potential could actually be at this point.

I hope Napier is THE guy to rebuild, because the past 3 burnt it to the ground.
The admin is probably as much or more responsible for this than any of the last 3 stooges. Even Butters fought with them over facilities and such.

I'm glad players are finally piping up - that's how you finally get change. It's a 20+ year old problem, not a 5 year old problem.

This is why I don't 7nderstand the love for CRob. The kids seem to like the guy, but he's got a bunch of overgrown DBs playing LB for him. And people say he's he's good recruiter but when was the last time we had a competent LB room? Benefit of the doubt I guess because Mullen was steering the ship but I wouldn't be sad if Napier told him to pack his ****.

Maybe. Just another reason I’d love to see them hit the bricks, as well

I’ll take your word for it, but wtf sense does it make closing the campus athletic dining hall? Are we saying that the takeout joints are cleaner and more sanitary than what we could provide? If so, to echo some other input to this thread, our problems have not been restricted simply to football/athletics.

So many facilities and support staff issues we mist fix.

Should have been done this 30 years ago, like mediocre high school did.

Again, not my words or opinions, the words and opinions of basically every other SEC team we played this year including the SCs, Mizzos, and KYs.

We were one of the softest, weakest teams both mentally and physically any of them ever played. A finesse group. Players loved Chump and Zook too, its essentially Stockholm syndrome and most of them have never seen or experienced what right looks like. Savage needs to GTFO!

I think during the Spurrier era and before, facilities (for example) didn't matter in recruiting, because every program had the same crap facilities built in the 1940's with painted concrete block walls. Dorms were tiny, dank dumps built shortly after World War I. Somewhere along the line after 2000, someone thought that upgrading everything may give them a recruiting edge. Then someone else, then someone else. At some point, every AD except Jeremy Foley viewed it as a necessity, not a luxury, that facilities become top-notch just to keep up with the Joneses.

This cafeteria crap is the same old-school mentality, and it's freaking 2021. It's totally inexcusable.

Including Savage. Maybe it's fair, maybe it's not, but we need a fresh start everywhere in the program - a completely new mentality.
Only guy I wouldn't mind staying is Brewster. TE room has been good when we got a QB to get it to them, and he's a great recruiter.

Fire him and violently escort him off campus with the rest of them. Nothing personal, it's just guilt by association.

Guaranteed the Alabamas and Clemsons of the world have an in house kitchen with a full staff. And this isn't just a football issue. It would benefit the entire athletics program.

I’d say the support infrastructure is more important than nice facilities. Functional facilities are a must though. If you support the athletes to be successful vs comfortable ie make bank now, now, and later with their career they will come. I prefer smart athletes.
