Saturday night, he did something that no other Gators kicker has done since Matt Leach in 2003.....

Kicked and made 3 field goals of 40 plus yards in a game.

He was kicking them from 55 in the pregame warmups with ease. Probably had another 8-10 yards of distance after they crossed..

Great to have Pineiro, who nailed 4 FG's, if you include the one that was taken away. We're talking about a guy that had never kicked in a football game before. That's remarkable. Not only that, his contagious excitement was one of the few bright spots to the bored-looking zombies all around him. He may have been the only one that looked like he actually wanted to be there.

There's no question he's going to attempt some 60+ yard FG's this year.

Having him should finally put some pressure on defenses to not let us past mid field. Something they completely disregarded last season because of our kicker problems. That's a big deal IMHO.
