Recruiting ESD December 2024 until NSD: Top 100 DB J’Vari Flowers commits as late addition

I like our class generally, did very well at a few positions. Good staffs recognize their handful of play makers and scheme to them. Think Tebow, Percy, a certain TE, Dallas Baker. Was Eugene Wilson over hyped, unable to make the transition to SEC level, or system Napier runs just not one to let some guys reach their potential?
Don’t leave us hanging. Which TE?

Not only that, but rumor on campus is that Strickland and Fuchs want to tear down the North endzone and put Coach's handball courts back in (no lights for night though)!

Handball. Good lord, for like one generation we became some poverty stricken Middle Eastern/SE Asian state. The whole talk of it is so embarrassing.

Apparently, you missed the "Cam and Tim play pickleball" video today... worse, it was doubles.

I don’t disagree with a lot of what you said. But is is because of “us fans of the university“ that these young players — most of whom will never play in the NFL — are now earning millions to play college ball. The average USFL and XFL team probably has a talent score that averages higher than your typical power 4 college team. But those professional players don’t earn squat solely because of lack of interest and poor ratings. I posit that it is only because “us fans of the university“ — who buy tickets, jerseys, and watch these players on tv — that these young men are now cashing in. “We the fans of the university” aren’t responsible for crap. It’s on the universities that failed to revenue share when they had the chance who are responsible for this crap. I buy tickets and/or donate the school. It’s not the responsibility of “us fans of the university” to foot the bill for fielding a team, or pony up the money to pay for a coach’s buyout for that matter. College football is now a semi-pro league. It’s time to dissociate the football teams from academics, treat these players asemployees and collectively bargain.
I agree...and that was my point. It is because we want to watch the players that all that money is exchanged but now the player finally is getting a cut. Not sure why some many are crying over that. We got into the problems we are having now because of the transfer portal, not NIL. Many people keep confusing the two but they are different things going on. Yes, NIL make the portal way more active than it was before but that doesnt mean NIL is wrong, it means the current portal parameters are allowing players to have too much control of the market. The university needs a bit more of the leverage back in my opinion by placing some limits on the portal, but they need to let the players get paid since everyone is getting paid off their backs.

Better for sure, but Im not sure I like excluding IMG. That should be hometurf for us too.

The next coach will have a better cupboard.
Should definitely do better. But, some kids will just want to be closer to their home. Same as some in state kids want to get away.

I think we should be able to convince more kids to stay from IMG. But, I’m more concerned that we can’t convince kids that Gainesville is its own bubble and it’s plenty far enough away while keeping you close for the holidays. Heck, kids from G’ville at UF talk about how they never see their parents and it’s the same town.

They're called caltrops and they are an ancient version of the landmine. They were easy to manufacture, basically 2 nails bent at right angles and joined in the middle. They always landed with a point up and were great for defense against cavalry or infantry.

It's all fun and games until you realize the shrew-harpie who's in the middle of a flying rage is now stuck in front of your house in need of someone to change her tire. There is no good outcome to that scenario.

For the purposes of this thought experiment, it's the one who, hypothetically, drives her SUV over my lawn, thereby, hypothetically, breaking 3-4 sprinkler heads every time she drops off the kids.

Another favorite ethical thought experiment is the Trolly Problem (Foot, 1967). A runaway trolley is careening down the tracks and headed for five unaware workmen. If you throw the switch, it diverts the trolley toward one workman who will surely die. Question: Do you throw your ex-wife in front of the trolley thereby killing all six in the process?
