It was as if he had no idea how to describe what he was seeing and just uttered the first thing that popped in his head. Cringeworthy nonetheless.
It was a popular catch phrase with younguns at the time. It reminded me of:

Don't you put me in the same category as WiLLLLLLLie!
:finger:
(I've been told to put lemon juice in my drinks to try to avoid further kidney stones) Ever tried lemon in coffee? It's not as bad as having a kidney stone, I can assure you.
You drink it for perfectly legit health reasons. Taggy sips hot water with lemon while wearing a leopard print Snuggie, sitting in a dimly-lit room curled up next to a natural gas fed fire while listening to Kenny G's greatest hits through his Alexa. There's a big difference.

Setting aside the seething disdain for a moment, I’m curious how F$U is perceived nationally as a department generally and a football program. They have squandered the reputation they gained under Bowden (as irritating as it was) and had major scandals across the programs.

They have fundamental disadvantages. 1. Their roots are shallow. That has been compensated by political maneuvers securing state funds for upgrades that are thinly veiled as academic projects.

2. They are distant, an hour farther from Jax and 2.5 hours farther than everything south of Gainesville.

3. They enroll and graduate fewer students than UF every year.

It’s hard to find a great coach. I see F$U slipping like scUM despite regional talent.

Departmentally, my opinion is they are viewed as a one trick pony (football) and that pony is pretty sick, plus they are in a much weaker & poorer conference. With us, we’ve had tremendous success in football and basketball. Furthermore, we have so many other athletic programs that are consistently successful. No, I’m not lauding Foley for prioritizing women’s softball & men’s badminton over the cash cow of football but it is nice to have other successful athletic programs ANCILLARY to King Football and Prince Basketball. Let’s be honest, how cool is it to watch the summer Olympics every 4 years from far flung corners of the world and see UF swimmers or UF track & field athletes kicking butt...so long as football is where it needs to be? It’s awesome and it brings us great exposure globally. Add in our academic (undergrad, grad & PhD) and top notch medical facilities and it’s easy to see why they are looked at they way they are. When that one thing they used to have that was relevant nationally gets put out to pasture, they have nothing else to hang their hats on. They really may become as irrelevant as Miami. Now, we just need to keep on climbing and we need to secure some more SEC and national championships in the very near future. That’s on Mullen, let’s see if he can deliver.

Good Gawd, man.

Have you ever heard of a paragraph?
