These are the games I have watched live but don’t have a strong recollection of because of my youth...I was 12 and remember the National championship and going to school the next Monday and our band teacher had a whole wall covered in newspapers and posters from the game cause a lot of the staff were State fans in the hall he was located in...ive been rewatching a lot of these games and can bring back pieces of memories...but I think 99’ when I started playing football was when I really started remembering almost every game...I’m glad I can go back and watch them though and love watching a lot of the teams from the mid-late 80’s as well as the spurrier years...I hated Fulmer but Bobby was a cool guy I always remembered that I respected the guy but hated the team...hope everyone is well

I appreciate your youthful ignorance, but booby "win at all costs" bowden doesn't deserve respect from any Gator fan.

Creyer has a shrine to him, Paterno, and Woody Hayes in his office.

I just remembered he always seemed like a good ole boy type...not snarky and smarmy like Fulmer

That was his schtick. He played the media like a fiddle and everybody outside of Gator Country loved him, even though he did everything he could to cover up the crimes and ncaa/university rule violations to keep his players eligible.

Meanwhile, SOS ran a clean program. He suspended and booted players when they broke the rules. Some of them were significant NFL talent. But because he's brash and throws out zingers as fast as Danny Boy threw TDs, he was the villain, Darth Visor.

The world chose style over substance.

I try not to be judgemental, because I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. But it's hard to watch blatant hypocrisy and not get pissed.

Meyers was a mercenary, so is he really a Gator? He brought us Timmy and 2 SECs + 2 MNCs, so I can live with it. He's given us a little pub lately, which is good for the program. He'll never be half the Gator SOS is, but I don't despise him like some on here do.

I despise him a lot less when he isn't recruiting against us.

you were clearly retarded as a child also.

Yeah...brain damage is what I try to blame it on...my other reason is I had to learn and watch Florida football on my own...I come from a whole family of Bama fans and if anyone knows FSU fans are buddies with SEC teams such as Auburn/Bama/UGA theyre all buddies...never understood it (other than the obvious rivalries) but my family always rooted for FSU when they played UF and it was one of the first exposures to Florida football...my neighbors and friends houses were where I had to go to watch the games

Bama and Auburn fans are buddies? Are you from never-never land?

I’ve been to every home game in the Swamp from ‘91 to 2000, and over 100 games there over the years..and that ‘97 game truly lives up to its billing as the “greatest game ever played in the Swamp.”

One of Spurrier's best coaching jobs, ever:

Tay Cody my ass! His real name is Coronta. His mama named him Coronta(I guess its pronounced Corontay), we'll call him Coronta. Loved those stupid names on their football team back then. Remember DeCody Fagg and Craphonso(Gene Peckerhoff called him Crow) Thorpe?

When you read these articles about the potential financial disasters at athletic departments across the state (and possible impacts on the football season), realize that the nulls were already sucking gas, not fielding crowds, struggling (or just flat missing) budget and one of the few Power 5 teams capable of maintaining their football budget. They needed either (1) spanx bailout money or (2) cancelling development projects to fire their abomination of a coach. It will be interesting and enjoyable watching them struggle from the fallout of the economic shutdown. Even those most ardent, don't shut down the economy voices here (Donk, threat, iDoc, etc) can appreciate this unintended consequence.
