Gators win. Crisp with the three out save. Three very hard hit balls but three outs nonetheless.
3-3 when Sully inserted Nick Pogue, a pitcher with an era of 15. It's now 7-3 and Pogue's era is 16. Sully is a great recruiter and developer of talent, but his in-game management is horrible.
Did I say he was the worst coach ever? I'm pretty sure I also used the term "great" in my statement. I've been saying the same thing about Sully for years, I just haven't been here for you to hear it.Off the cliff we go. Sully the worst coach ever now...
I wouldn't trade Sully for anyone else, there are just decisions that leave me scratching my head. That can also be said about half the managers in MLB these days, so Sully isn't the only one.Yeah I know he's a great coach. We have also heard from MANY on here to fire Sully just about every single year too. And yet he is on target to be the winningest coach in UF history in HALF the time of anyone else...
Fully agree, I just think you've gotta have a little quicker hook with a guy that thus far hasn't proven anything.I think he is trying to figure out which of these guys he can trust in midweek games. They've all been bad or average. My guess is he will keep testing these guys to see which ones step up. The midweek games will be a wild ride all season.
I think we'll win a lot of weekend series, but midweek games will be a struggle. Gator baseball always plays a brutal schedule and the depth of the pitching staff will be challenged.I was there. Not much to say. Defensively we were horrendous. Scored enough to win, but some of our young pitchers are not quite ready. Young had some good swings and had 2 line drive outs, but very hard hit balls. By far the best pitcher on the field was the guy who pitched the last 3 or so innings for UCF He must be their closer. Mid 90's. Going to be an up and down year.
