Per NCAA rules, Gurley would face a potential one-game suspension (10 percent of the team's competition) if he accepted improper benefits ranging from $100 to $400. The penalty would increase to two games (20 percent) for amounts from $400 to $700, and to four games (30 percent) for amounts greater than $700.

30% of the season for $700+

So not sure what you mean two different penalties for $400-$700.

I get that, I just don't get how it's allowed. To me, if you're suspended, you're suspended. Meaning, no practice, no playing...suspended.

Would suspended also preclude one from doing pregame warm ups in full pads and uni's??? And then standing on the sideline wearing your game jersey while cheering with, talking to, and coaching up your other teammates???

Huh....who saw that coming?

I called that from DAY ONE of his suspension. AND said, now we'll have to contend with a well rested Gurly who has been chomping at the bits to get back out there. I'd rather he had played. At least then he may be bumped and bruised like the rest of the SEC. He'll be well rested, in peak condition, and have a chip on his shoulder. That should bode well for us.
