Ian RapoportSources: #Michigan has made another run at Jim Harbaugh after he initially rebuffed the school. U-M has made an offer of 6 years, $48M. Wow.

That is crazy!

No doubt. But if you know who you need, you go out and get them. I think Harbaugh can lead Michigan back. Michigan's biggest problem is a declining population which leads to a declining recruiting pool. But if there's anybody that can overcome that, it's him. He did it at Stanford for Pete's sake.

I'd be stunned if he went back to college. After all, he's going to be able to get close or better than that same amount of money from the Raiders, Jets, or Dolphins.

I agree, but what about the guys on line 2 and 3 waiting for his response! It will su@k to be them when they do pick up the phone to talk.

Michigan didn't even pay Hoke $3 million...now they're going to give the next coach $5+ million more?

Living in an NFL City, I hear a lot of the national NFL news and the speculation I've heard is Harbaugh to Oakland. Harbaugh's wife likes where she lives (apparantly).

That's a ton of money to throw around. They're gonna look like damaged goods if they don't get him. They'll end up overpaying some middle of the road college coach like the Voles did.

Yup. They offer their man 48 mil but only want to pay their #2 half that. Its not gonna end well...

Seems like he also has another year on his contract and I bet they do have a means to enforce it. I also heard his wife likes where she lives so Michigan does not sound like an attractive location. Perhaps the Dolphins could make a case for similar climate or maybe better.
