We already figured that if you can stop and/or limit Fournette then you have a chance to beat them cause their QB is not that good and that is exactly what has happened the past couple of weeks. LSU has been on borrowed time and it was only a matter of time until they got beat.

I was hearing Jimbo's name the most, many of their fans say LSU is his dream job. I think they're crazy but you never know. I think they're finally done because he's lost like 5 straight to Saban, he's becoming the Richt of the west as long as Saban is there. I personally think Saban is gone after this year though, I think he tries his hand at the NFL again so if they keep Les at least through next year he might change their minds. They are going to be so sorry if they let him go and get a Champ type coach, I don't think they remember what it's like to have a coach that barely gets you bowl eligible every year.

First, I can't see Dumbo leaving the ease of the ACC to fight weekly against SEC teams. I just can't see it.

Second, I would find it hilarious if Les were bought out and then Saban jumped to the NFL again. I think you guys are spot on that if Saban is gone, LSU is winning enough to keep Les.

Les's only National Title team (2 loss NC) was in Saban's first year at Alabama. I believe Alabama lost to Lousiana-Monroe that year.

Looking back at their history, they do seem to have forgotten what it was like beforehand, and it should be pointed out that Les has a better winning percentage than Saban did while there:

I'm not a student of LSU football, but I have a friend who is, and he has an interesting take on the situation.

IMO, short of a Miami-style implosion in the last three games, Les gets at least one more year to save $6M on the buyout.

But he's not gonna change. When you listen to his press conferences and his blathering about lack of execution, he means it. He sincerely believes there is absolutely nothing wrong with his game plan, his coaching philosophy or his approach to the game, and the only reason it doesn't work is because his players don't perform. It's like giving a world-class neurosurgeon a claw hammer to perform brain surgery and blaming the guy when the patient dies from a fractured skull.

So the choice is between further stagnation and/or regression, or pull the plug on the Les Miles tenure and roll the dice.

In the 90s and early 00s, tickets were also still dirt cheap and parking on campus for tailgating was free. The blue collar fans have been all but priced out. No fan base in the country is going to shell out hundreds to thousands of dollars per game to watch a team quit from the opening kickoff. Especially not to pay a coach nearly $5M per who thinks getting blown out at home by an SEC also ran is acceptable.

Then there's this.

Personally, I don't see it. Jimbo? No way, IMO, he'll use an offer to jack the Clowns for more money. At best, it's not a better job, not in the SEC West.

Miles' dream job is Michigan, but the timing isn't right...Harbaugh isn't going anywhere for quite a while, that boat sailed for Les Miles. Miles is what, 60? So his options aren't wide open. I think the Hatter stays for one more year, and then he's toast at LSU.

Happily, not our problem.

I'm a Les fan. He'll be fine if they fire him. Someone will hire him up immediately and he won't have to face Saban every year.
I agree with you... I like Les and if he is canned will show up again probably in the big 10 or maybe even Texas
