Really it goes more like 3 yards on 1st. -5 yards on second and 30 yards + TD on third and Grantham. The longer 3rd down is, the more likely the other team is to get a massive chunk play or outright TD.

It really is uncanny how guaranteed 3rd and a mile is for an offense when Todd Exotic is on the opposing sideline.

Not only is his scheme complete trash but the position and fundamentals instruction seem to be non-existent as well. Worst defense I've ever seen at Florida, and I remember our 4-8 chump year. Even that defense where we had walk-ons starting at inside linebacker was far superior to this one.
