We are the better team and don't lose anything when we need to substitute our depth players in there. La Salle has a noticeable drop-off when some of their starters roll out.
Gators have been lock-down on defense in the 2nd half too.
Okaru has picked up the dribble twice in the last offensive series--prompting a timeout for one and on the other, got pretty lucky not to turn it over.
One of the walk-ons at the FT line now...makes one!
Getting "to the rim" only to clang-miss or "rim-rollover" is pathetic. It was our trademark last year. Worse, I never see our opponents afflicted so. When players nervous-out on the inside touch, teach them the crisp bank.
Nembhard is doing well for being thrown into the fray right away. Will pay dividends down the road.
Here are some positives from the game. I didn't see many pointed out in the game thread: We had 46 points in the paint and only shot 13 3 pointers so our focus was to get the ball inside which we did with great success. We complain on here that we ONLY shoot 3 pointers but we REALLY attacked the rim tonight so great coaching by White there. We shot 56% for the game and 61% in the 2nd half and used a 17-1 run to blow the game open early in the 2nd half. We were able to force 19 turnovers with our press and our largest lead was 24. 3 games in our team is trying to find our identity and working on different lineups. Still very early in the season. Go Gators!!
