Credit the team for hanging in there but that is why I ALWAYS foul when up 3 and under 10 seconds to play. To me there is no question either mathmatically or situationally. Even those coaches who choose not to foul, rarely do they teach their team how to defend it correctly. It is irrelevant where your man is as you are only defending where the ball is and the line. Everything else is irrelevant. But statistically too many things have to happen for a team to lose by fouling, but hey you take advantage of what the opponent gives you.
