We won. We beat Mike White for 3 in a row. We seem to have fixed our free throw shooting.

We blew a huge lead with poor, sloppy play. Still got lots to work on.

Bottom line, this isn't a "Cinderella" team and won't be with the current coach, sorry. It is what it is, bubble team happy to make the tourney, then bow out. Every team has games throughout the season where they stand out or overachieve, but deep run if they make it, no fing way

2 average teams slugging it out, trying more not to lose rather than trying to win!

For now holding an opponent under 100 points is our definition of good defense. But, fear not, Golden will eventually solve the 27 page equation he's been working on over the last 15 years. When that day comes, Golden promises to bring us mind blowing defense.

This team plays so much better from a flow standpoint when Kugel is injured and not even dressed out. Just the possibility of him playing disrupts the teamwork necessary for this bunch to become the best version of the sum of its parts. It is difficult to explain, but it is not an unusual phenomenon in basketball especially for someone who was the leading scorer on a pretty crappy team last year. The cancer must be cut out for the patient to survive.

You hate to give up on a kid with so much up side but Kugel has become a liability in the clutch.
His mins will keep going down with showings like today, it’s sad to see and bad for the Gators because he has the ability to be a game changer

Florida wins 102-98!!!!!
Good win and one we needed. It was a 5 point line on some boards so outcome about what expected. It’s a game of streaks and they had the late one, not to mention a player that averages 9 points go for 35, more than 10 points more than his previous all time high. Sure, letting it get pushed to OT was disappointing, but taking care of business in OT and getting the win was encouraging.
We shot 55% from the field, 85% from the line and nearly doubled them on the boards. But they shot 43% from 3 and again had a possessed player go for 35. Cut down on the turnovers, which were uncharacteristically high today, and we are going to be a tough out for everyone on our schedule. Time to go get that quad 1 win.

Time will tell. We have depth at guard and bigs that few teams can match. Our pg has one of the best assist to TO ratios in the conference, we dominate on the boards and seem to have figured out that FT’s are important. We need that signature win to build confidence but I’m back in the pumper camp (until the next blowout loss ).

Serious question: what’s our best chance to get that Quad 1 win?

I’d just like to see us cut down on the turnovers and stop giving up so many open shots on the perimeter. Seems like first reversal yields an uncontested three to a good shooter. Don’t get me started on Clayton et al getting wiped out on a high pick every other possession. Defense is more conceptual than applied with some of our guys. Teacher or the students? Both? :dunno:

Coaching discussion aside, Riley Kugel was supposed to be one of the 5 best players in the league and the dude is so broken that he is only worth putting in to give our other guards a breather. His body language seems REALLY bad every time he steps onto the floor...

Is this guy gonna transfer mid-season?? He is 100 percent going to transfer or leave the program somehow.

This is 3 guys in a row who have been all-conference who ended up not contributing to our team, if I'm not mistaken. There's no way that **** happened to any other team. Keyontae Johnson basically died, blackshear just ended up being "pretty good" but nothing special, and now kugel is showing Brett Nelson and Kevaughn Allen a whole new meaning to the word, "regression." I feel bad for the guy but Jesus, the nonchalant body language off-the-ball and on defense screams, "take me out." Seems like he's good for a couple backdoor dunks, a couple turnovers, and a couple missed three's each game.

Really fukin weird and unlucky IMO.
