WTH did I just watch? Isn’t this why they have tents to do these kinds of things in private now?
Most truck drivers are salt of the earth kind of people. I pulled into a parking lot last week and saw a driver park his truck at the road. By the time I made it to the door we were crossing paths. I asked him where he was from (Texas) and if he was unloading down the road at a notoriously awful location. He had been waiting 40 hours for a new appointment. We talked about 10 minutes and he thanked me several times for just taking the time to talk to him. Said I made his day. I bet he could go days without talking to people. He’s on the road a month at a time (by choice). Great pay but not everyone could do it.
So to speak…I had a girlfriend years back in Tally - her dad was a long distance trucker.
We dated for about 8 months and I only ever saw him one time. I don't think she saw him more than that.
The mom had to carry most of the load.
Well, to be truthful, when I was a little kid, that was a lot of money. Gas was 29.9, a loaf of bread was .19 and we filled the freezer with a half a beef for 80 bucks.
