I've been pummeled by many a big wave before, but I never came close the air time that guy got.

My understanding is that beach is called The Wedge and is in California. The way the waves approach the beach causes them to bounce off of a jetty and recoil into a trailing wave. The merge causes the two waves to be twice as large as either were alone and the break is completely random. They also drop your ass on the sand. That guy lands in just a few inches of water.
