IMO...

DR is obviously the #1. I think a couple changes need to happen with the receiving unit.
  1. Pittman needs to be replaced with either Bailey or Worton
  2. Dunbar needs to be replaced with Debose
  3. Goolsby needs to get some reps at TE on pass plays

Driskel has a ton of deficiencies that I'm not sure he can overcome but if we had solid slot receiver and a threat at TE it could open up the middle of the field, I think that the offense would be a lot better. Pittman just can't catch. Just about every throw is to the flat or the sidelines.

Wasn't Dunbar in position on some of those throws - I think he may still be one of the best ones after DRob

well whatever the issue is, we cant complete passes that are in the air for more than 10 yards unless they are going east/west. we might dink and dunk and bubble screen a couple jv teams to death, but that crap aint gonna work against the real teams. we need to throw it down the field unfortunately its obvious we cant b/c every time the deep ball is called driskel is so inaccurate it makes you cringe.

Worton has a broken hand. I agree that Pittman just hasn't shown me much. Maybe we try Brandon Powell in the slot?

receivers aren't the issue, you can run me down the field if the ball is off target nothing matters.

Agree with benching Pittman he can't catch period, they should move him to Corner he is not a WR.

Hopefully Worton heals up quick. Everything I 've watched from this kid screams "Gamer". Hopefully he'll get mental reps while rehabbing and be able to hit the ground running once the cast comes off. Anxious to see what he can do once he gets some targets.

Pittman is just a combine and practice hero. He didn't do anything in highschool. I'll never understand his rating. I'm sure he's a good kid but he's not good enough to be getting these kind of reps. I'd like to Alvin Bailey in the slot. Or give Debose more looks there.

Is there a WR coach who deals with the habitual mentality of soft hands reliance ? Our overall WR-force is dropping too
many hit-in-hands throws. Up-tempo offense requires a flow of successful ball-moving play after play. Lets get that
through their heads, epecially Driskel.

I think we greatly miss the QB read run. It will be successful 'til a good team assigns for it, then other areas open
up and the QB fake ties 'em up for opposite side runners to rip it. And do more of those "crossing WRs DB wipe-off passes". Driskel's dominant talent is rifle-burying the ball into the gut of the slanting WR = no touch needed.

The same WRs that have such a hard time catching passes from Driskel seem to catch everything from Treon and Grier in practice. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that maybe it's hard for the receivers to catch passes from Driskel since they come in hot and inaccurate more often than not. Accuracy is more important than arm strength, but the star readers only care about that comet trail on the ball..

What if Treon started the UT game ? That wouldn't dent Driskel's confidence and we might learn the maximum
and our backup would get the very best experience. Plan it, practice it and let'er rip. OK, wait 'til that late cupcake
but let the team start with him. It would be an event … for future QB recruits to clap their hands about. Think
about it; if he does poorly we get to replace him with our first stringer.

Are you kidding me? Yes Jeff had trouble with the deep balls last night, but he had like 4-5 perfect first down passes dropped. That is 100% on the receivers.

With the way Poole was playing last night, you might have a good idea there!

Most of those drops were right on target so that dog wont hunt. The only one that I remember being off was one of DRob's, it was a little behind but still hit him in the hands. And by the way Driskel had the best rec% out of all the Qb's in practice.
