As opposed to our complete and utter failure position coaches and terrible recruiters?

Saban's got a machine running up there and obviously his methods are working. And formerly high paid, experienced coaches are willing to "intern" in the machine for year. Saban gets Locksley, we get a former HS basketball coach.

Sorry, I trust the coaches

No head coach that's won the titles Saban has is going to benefit from Mike Locksley coming in as an analyst for a year. Yes, he's got the name. Saban will benefit mildly from his name. Locksley however will benefit immensely from taking the position. He gets to spend a year inside the Bama program, learning the system inside and out (at least a lot of good sheet) and literally taking notes. He's basically going to Saban's Football U for a year, all the while building his brand, and getting PAID, however mildly, to do so. Once the season ends with possibly two flashy title rings he'll get a big fat raise as a top tier offensive coordinator or a head coach.

This is the "on deck" positions for coaches at Bammer. Remember they hired Kiffy the same way a couple of months before they fired Nusschamp. Many of their assistants get promoted from "quality control" assistant or analyst positions.

Locksley was a complete and utter failure as a head coach and considered one of the worst in the country.

So, HC isn't isn't strong suit.....meaning he must be awesome at something else? Saban must know something.

Locksley is a shady coach and a great recruiter. Saban will find a position for him.

You realize he coached for us, right? And was one of the best recruiters we have ever had, right?
