If a person is worth firing next year, it's imperative you fire him now.
If Mullen is despondent to the point of apathy over being forced to endure the season with dwag Grant Them, fire them both.
If Stricknine forced Mullen to retain Grant Them causing Mullen to go Sullen, then fire all three and start over.

Sounds like a bunch of pumper nonsense to protect their poor victim moral victory winning coach. I call BS on this.

Ya'll are looking at it wrong. With Ogre you get an interim head coach in waiting. I mean, we had Randy Shannon. If you're going to dive to the bottom of the barrel, go all out.

I bet there is an offset if he takes another job so I bet this is not an option.

I was watching the other night and wondered if some lower level head coach might be interested. Coastal Carolina was one of the options. Thinking of head coach opportunity.

There's no way he could be worse than Grantham, and can damn sure out recruit him.
In fact, has Grantham himself ever landed a single recruit during his time here?

Im hard pressed to think of one, but those edge players are attracted to the "you have no run responsibility, just line up wiiiiiiiiiiide and rush every play" position. There is really nothing like it elsewhere.

I gotta hope this is the reason if strick did veto a request for termination. Because if he did for any other reason than he needs to be fired as well. My gut says dan wouldnt ask for him to be fired and this is all more excuses from the mullen defenders. I highly doubt mullen ever considered getting rid of dwagthem, he defends him to the nth degree at every opportunity, even to the point he makes himself look like an ass. That doesnt sound like the behavior of someone that wanted to have him fired.

I don't know man, I kinda thought about this scenario after last year as well. We all hate and give Mullen hell but surely he's not dumb enough to wanna keep Grantham after last years shyt storm. It's just hard for me to believe Mullen is that stupid, that egotistical for sure but not sure about being that dumb. And what was he supposed to tell the media when asked about Grantham, "hey I tried to fire that fat, red faced, drunk mother fucher but my boss wouldn't let me"? At least he finally came out last week and admitted it was Grantham's last year of his contract.

Wasn't one or both the coaches who were let go last year on their final year of their contract as well so UF didn't have to pay a buyout? Look at Mike White as well, why the fuch is he still employed?

Damn sure not trying to defend Mullens worthless ass but I've said it multiple times about UF's coaching situation since SOS was here. Three of our last five coaches quit or forced their hand to get fired. Now look at what Mullen is doing. It's obvious he doesn't wanna be there anymore either.

I think Mullen should be fired on the field in Jacksonville after the prison raping that's coming but I don't think things are gonna get any better no matter who they hire until they fix whatever keeps making coaches quit.

whether he wanted to and was told no or not, ultimately is irrelevant. Because that fuchstard wanted to and did hire him to start with despite the body of work out there for all to see, not to mention what a slap in the face it was to the fan base to hire that jackass regardless of his awful history as a coach. any HC worth half a sht would never had him on the payroll. same with essentially every other individual on the staff. hard to argue that mullen wants to be rid of dead weight but strick is denying it when 90% of the staff is dead weight and many of them have been given raises and extensions since arrival. hes hardly done anything at all to get rid of dead weight, hell weve gotten rid of more talent so far than dead weight. strick is fuchstard, so is mullen. both of them need to be castrated and beaten in the middle of University ave.

I think we should use Swonk's idea: after the game a plane should fly over the stadium with a trailing banner telling him he's fired. I'd add that as he is no longer employed by the university he won't be allowed into the locker room; rather a security guard will hand him a box containing whatever belongings he left in the locker room. And he will have to arrange his own transportation home. Upon arrival in Gainesville, he will discover the locks at the football offices have all been changed. Again, a security guard will turn over boxes with his personal items from his office and escort him off campus. At that time he will be served with court papers advising him he has been banned from setting foot on the UF campus.

Too much?

The way he has managed his QBs this year, and really since his arrival, makes me believe that he really is that stupid.

To be clear, the article was NOT to replace Grantham, but to be part of the new DC staff, as the Dline coach

Not enough when at the same time you hand him his belongings in a Salvation Army bag you have to hand him a check for $12 million.

Look there's no fuchsing way we said, 'sure Mullenz, let's give you a $1.5 million pay bump to stave off non-existent offers from the NFL, but we can't spare $1.8 to fire our worst coordinator in history."

If it smells like bullshiit, it's probably bullshiit.

People who act like his nickname wasn't Third and Grantham a decade ago are hilarious.

We have a cheap ass administration but if you believe for 2 seconds that we wouldn't cough up 1.8 mil to get rid of the worst DC in gator history, if got a bridge to sell you. This is absolutely bs. Internet bs.
