SEC West v SEC East the last 5 years

2013: West 8-6
2014: West 10-4
2015: West 12-2
2016: West 9-5
2017: West 11-3

Last season Georgia was the first SEC Champion from the East since 2008.

We’ve been informed LSU is not that good.
We know that's BS. You'd have to go back to the days of DiNardo to find a bad LSU team, and even then ...

I don't think Auburn is all that good. Kentucky is for real. We'll be able to tell a lot after this weekend when the Gators play LSU, but it is in the Swamp so it might be good. I don't think anybody touches Alabama this year. Even the playoff games will be over by halftime. Doesn't matter who they play.

I think the East is closing the gap, but the West still have 4 of the 5 best teams. Here are my SEC Power Rankings:

1.Alabama
2.Georgia
3.LSU
4.Auburn
5.Texas A&M
6.Kentucky
7.Florida
8.Mississippi State
9.Missouri
10.South Carolina
11.Ole Miss
12.Tennessee
13.Vanderbilt
14.Arkansas

It's still pretty uneven when you consider the Bama-Auburn-LSU trifecta.

If FL takes out LSU and Kentucky pulls another upset at College Station this coming weekend, then the case for the East grows stronger.

From your lips to God’s ears. I just hope we beat the brakes off them.
We should be in this ball game....and I know no one wants to hear this but we may have to use a similar tactic as last week....we have to slow this game down. If it becomes say higher than a 35-40 combined score it probably would favor them.

I agree. I like how DM emphasizes in the presser how the game plan changes. I think with their DB’s ability to play man I would love to see us pound it on the ground repeatedly this week and then try to hit deep on occasion.

I think Bama got even better than they were last year, while georgia has taken a slight step back (still very good and still the second best team in the SEC, but not nearly as dominant as they were last year).

Outside of that, I think LSU has gotten better, Auburn has stayed about the same; A&M slightly better, MSU slightly worse, and Ole Miss about the same...with the less said about Arkansas the better.

The East has generally been better this year with a much-improved Kentucky and better Florida and South Carolina in there too. Not quite challenging the West yet, but the gap has closed.
